I'm back from my young cousin's graduation in Scranton, PA, where she was the co-valedictorian.  She gave an absolutely beautiful speech, the ceremony was really lovely, and the post-graduation dinner was very good.

Congrats to your niece! This was college graduation?

8th grade.  She starts high school in the fall.

Back from a roast beef sandwich - curiously you'd think a deli would actually have some Jewish type rolls, but nooooo - only french bread and other kinds of breads, and bagels - no Kaiser, no onion rolls - what is happening in the world of delis?

Ridiculous!

One week from today, if all goes well, I will be in post-surgical recuperative mode. Hopefully on my way back to my covered hovel, in my opinion dressed up with lots of books and discs.

SURGICAL VIBES OF ALL SORTS to DR DAN M!

May you have a successful surgery and rapid recovery!

Thanks DR Jeanne. As the week progresses, I am getting nervous.

Just relaxing, watching a couple of Netflix movies and dozing, although one was pretty good.

Well, it's time to head home.  I need to do some laundry...I really do!

Until later.

Last night, I power-cycled my cable modem/router to see if that would help with me receiving the wi-fi signal up in my bedroom (which is an open loft right above the modem/router), and so far it's working...hopefully, it'll continue to work.

The meeting was supposed to be with our rep, but she was injured so she couldn't fly up from California.

I think that I might have, but it would've been several years ago.

Or, depending on how long he's had the job, I could have met his predecessor.

I have watched a couple of my brothers using a chain saw.

I also have an Uncle George that I never met.  He and his twin brother Jim were working at a saw mill in Waverly, Indiana, in the 1930's, they were not out of their teens yet.   When out with the cutting crew, George happened to notice that a huge tree was falling toward Jim....he ran and pushed Jim out of the way.  The tree fell on him and killed him.

Such a sad story, and very moving.

We had a nice evening at our condo building.  A very friendly couple who lives several doors down invited us for dinner.  It was a delicious dinner with a grilled panni as the main dish.  I now want a bbq for our patio to grill yummy veggies.
