Starting to watch the musical version of From Here to Eternity. Won't make it through even act I tonight, but I can see why it bombed. It's not horrible, but the British actors trying to do American accents uniformly sound horrible, so that adds to the lack of magic. I like some of the music, not many of Tim Rice's lyrics and less of the book.

Do you have the CD? It's really weird. It's a 2-CD set, but all the music between the 2 CDs adds up to just over an hour...over 2 CDs! What's with that??

If you have a region code-free DVD player, you can get the PAL/Region 2 DVD from Amazon.com HERE (it's not available in a standard US DVD release).
