Revenge has begun.

There was much complaining about the plethora of night lights being left on and the number of them that were backstage....

So I bought four more today to put in all of the outlets.....to leave on overnight.

TOD:

I'm not sure it qualifies, but I liked the original RoboCop.

Weird dreams last night. In one, which I had a couple of times, I crushed a tarantula under foot. I was leery of getting bit through the sole of my shoe, but I stomped it anyway. I was getting ready to open a door when its black furriness crawled into my path.

The other dream was about going to see a revival of Destry Rides Again with my friend Bonnie, who hates musicals. And she'd seen it already.

I watched about 30 minutes of the new TV series "Zoo" last night.  It took me about three hours to get through that 30 minutes (other shows intervened).

I want to like it...but it seems to be very slow getting started.

If DR MBarnum were still posting here, we'd likely be discussing season 17 of "Big Brother" and initial impressions of the houseguests.

Sigh.

Finally got to watch our Romeo and Juliet cassette. Zeffirelli's respect for Shakespeare is pervasive in each of his films.

I can't express how much I love both of them in that movie. They are just perfect together. Olivia Hussey is a true beauty.....no doubt.

My favourite part? Can't say, but it was a good movie.

Oh, and good morning!  :)

A wonderful film in all respects.

I feel similarly toward "The Taming of the Shrew" with Taylor and Burton.

And I feel both are better than a Transformers movie.

I'd just heard that the Transformers movies were different - and the words used were always "smart" and "fun" along with popcorn flicks.  I have no need for films like that, but to me popcorn flicks has always meant stuff like Back to the Future or Gremlins or that kind of film - not this bloated, overstuffed, mindless, completely devoid of humor, badly acted crap.  I cannot imagine a scenario where the first film would suddenly have been smart and fun.

Why does it feel like Friday?  Probably because the Kritzerland rehearsals are usually on Monday and Thursday.

I'll go along with DR John G. on ROBOCOP.  Just the first one.  I do enjoy that one.  I guess I don't really associate that with any of the "today" crap we're talking about.

How about Schwarzenegger's stuff?  Does that apply?  I have to ask because ..... I've never seen it!    :)

I hope someone here associates with "Guardians of the Galaxy", 'cause it's lots of fun and a hoot-and-a-half.

TOD:
I have never seen any of the Transformer movies, and I am pretty certain I never will. Just not my thing.

I went to see the first "Transformers" movie with a friend of mine.  He really wanted to see it, so I went with him.  It was enjoyable in a mindless kind of way, but it really wasn't any kind of franchise that I was interested in ever seeing again.

However, a few years later, I watched "Battleship" (it was supposedly inspired by the game...but I couldn't tell), and I actually enjoyed that.  The movie ended up being a total bomb in the theaters, but I thought that it was better than what people gave it credit for.

I, too, love the Zeffirelli Shakespeare films, and I am home from my date with my lovely goddaughter Charlotte.

We loved Jurassic World, which seems essentially the same plot as Jurassic Park. the chief difference being that the first was about the disastrous attempt to begin a theme park, while in the new one the theme park is up and running.  Keeping the theme park analogy, the movie's like a wonderful roller coaster ride: once you get on, go with it for the thrills and the wonderful dinosaurs.  The velociraptors are fantastic, and when the pterodactyles get loose, it's just like Tippi and Rod running from The Birds!

Thanks for pointing out that new Sherman review last night, DR George.

I was just perusing the Cast Recordings group on FB and I didn't realize that someone there had posted where to buy the recording:

http://www.simgproductions.com/Records/A_Spoonful_of_Sherman.html

It's narrated by Robert J. Sherman, son of Robert B. Sherman and nephew of BK's close and personal friend, Richard M. Sherman.

Back from a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich - at Jerry's Deli - I'd had it once before and didn't think much of it, but the server said I should try it again and it was absolutely stellar.
