Hope I haven't missed anyone.  If I have, sorry it wasn't intentional

Paul and I went to a matinee of Inside Out today.   It was interesting, original and had some very funny moments.  I liked it, but can't say I loved it. It's sort of a psychological profile of an 11 year old girl.  I have no clue what a kid would think of it, but there were a lot of kids there today

The heat index is 110 right now, so the movie theater or inside my house are the only places I wanted to be today

There was a strange animated short about a volcano looking for love right before the movie.  I reminded me of the old cartoon before the feature.

I get why Inside Out had good reviews.  I liked it, I think I expected it to be funnier

My brother gave me a set of Block City blocks - I used to love to build houses and buildings with them when I was young[er]....

I started to build a house and realized that this EBAY purchase only had three small windows.....so if I build something it will have to be a DARK house.

I do have a set myself....with red windows, so maybe I will combine the two.

You definitely need more than two windows in a house,  I'd combine the sets

BK

after you saw The Apple Dumpling Gang at the Fox, did any of the audience members recognize you?

It was the noon show - I believe I was the only one there.

Good afternoon. I spent the afternoon watching the new San Francisco Opera's dvd of Show Boat, which arrived the other day. Wae-Ling loves the music to Show Boat, and I thought I had better preview the show before we watch it.

Back from a lovely excursion to Winona, MN (about 2 hours driving south of here) for an amazing choral concert at the Beethoven Festival.

It made for a long day, but a wonderful one filled with many small discoveries.

I took my mom to lunch at a restaurant on the water

We had a nice meal out on the porch overlooking the Great South Bay

When we walked in all the stools at the counter were vacant, the  two round tables by the jukebox were empty and only 2 people occupied one the  three booths.  We grabbed a booth perused the menu and ordered our ice cream .
