TOD:
Not a thing in my CD player at the moment. That, in itself, is most strange and unusual since I have piles and piles of unlistened-to CDs gathering dust.
I will say that after reading BK's comments about "Inside Daisy Clover", I can not only agree with what he wrote but also acknowledge that I, too, saw the film in its first release...several times, taking different folks to see it to observe their reactions. I bought the soundtrack the moment I saw it in the record store. I have both the mono and stereo LPs. And then years ago, Film Score Monthly issued every single note of music ever recorded for the film (to my knowledge) in a splendid, marvelous, too-wonderful-for-words
2-CD* soundtrack that was the end-all, be-all for Daisy Clover fans. It was my go-to gift for many friends for the next year.
Andre Previn was a truly splendid composer for film. He has consigned ALL of his Hollywood work to the trash heap, although my opinion of his own classical work is that it is imminentely forgettable while his Hollywood work is among the best EVER done by anyone...both original work and adaptation.
