I will avoid commenting on RENT since I am in the minority on that one.

Is George out of town?

Nope.  I'm home now...if you hadn't figured that out, yet.

Come to think of it......... Why was CATS ever on Broadway?

From all I heard about it, and the cat lover that I am, I expected the show to be great.  I disliked it.

Walking back to the car we stopped at Grand Central Bakery for their delicious peanut butter cookies.

Instead of going home we walked around downtown Vancouver before seeing Mr. Holmes.  The theater was packed to our surprise and we were glad we went in early for good seats.

After the movie we came home and went for a nice long walk.  It was a lovely cool evening.

Topic of the Day:  I found a couple of articles that list musicals based on movies, so that's where these came from and why there are so many.  Also, all are shows that I've actually seen:

Stage shows I've seen that I liked or thought were well done:
The Baker's Wife
Beauty and the Beast
Billy Elliot (I have the Blu-ray of the London production)
La Cage aux Folles
Cannibal! The Musical!
Carnival!
The Full Monty
Hairspray
The Last Starfighter
Legally Blonde
A Little Night Music
Little Shop of Horrors
Mamma Mia! (THIS article about movie-to-musical adaptations admits that the plot is very similar to "Buona Sera, Mrs. Campbell," so it lists it. ;) )
My Fair Lady
Passion
Reefer Madness
A Room With a View
The Spitfire Grill
Scrooge
Secondhand Lions
She Loves Me
Spamalot
Sunset Boulevard
Sweet Charity
Young Frankenstein

Stage shows that I didn't like or thought weren't done well:
A Wonderful Life

Honorable mention (shows that I liked but may not actually have been that great):
Catch Me If You Can
The Color Purple
Nite of the Living Dead! The Musical! (this was an original musical put on by Theater Artists Olympia several years ago. I was in it)
Shrek The Musical
Victor/Victoria (I got to see Julie Andrews live!)
Whistle Down the Wind
