Over in England, there's a new version of Anthony Trollope's novel, The Duke's Children, which is the last of the Palliser novels, if you watched the TV series.

It's double the length of the original version, so it's like having a new Trollope to tempt us.

Unfortunately, it's only in England now.

Strange day all around.   Not sure where most of it went, as well.

Had a remarkable sandwich at lunch -- steak shavings with grilled onions, mushrooms and bleu cheese.

VERY tasty.

The weather is a lot cooler this week.  We may even get a little rain this evening.

Heat returns for the weekend, though.

DR Ginny, I found a Middletown city directory on eBay. Your sister-in-law sold it to me.

What a goddam frustrating morning! I got to Staples to make my copies only to be told the photocopiers were down. I wasted that time getting to Fed ex to use their.  The 104 bus was late, and the No. 5 bus was not only running late but it was packed because of that. That meant a long really lousy ride to St Patrick's and Rockefeller Center. I saw my barber and then waited 20 minutes for a  crosstown bus that was due at 9:33. I got to the music director's late and dropped off the music with his doorman, then went out to the bus stop and waited for an uptown 104 bus, but because of construction, the buses are not stopping there. I So, I had to find where the MTA asses had moved the stop; they never give any information.

I am very glad to be home.

I hope tomorrow will be a better day, DR elmore!

In about an hour I shall be on my way to the recording studio for session two.  Praying for traffic to be as light as yesterday at that time.

And I am finally back with my car after its two (2) days in the shop.  Took them a lot of trial and error, for some reason, to figure out the power steering pump had to be replaced.  But it drives like a new car now -- even if I had to meet and exceed vixmom's $425 by a few bucks.

Sorry, but that can't possibly happen two days in a row.   :D

Vibes it does, though!

DR Ginny, I found a Middletown city directory on eBay. Your sister-in-law sold it to me.

So I heard!  She asked if we'd like to deliver it to you.  Hope it's OK that I told her you'd be here in a couple of weeks...

Made it here in nineteen minutes again. The only slow up was literally just before the exit and that really only took an additional thirty seconds or so. So I sit and relax for an hour

Today's keynote speaker is a former CEO (I think) of Disney (this is correct).  HOWEVER, this one man has been scheduled to speak for, get this...TWO-AND-A-HALF HOURS! :o What could one person talk about to a captive audience for two-and-a-half hours??

He'd better be good.

Well, he was good, but he wasn't a former CEO.  His name is John Formica.  He worked for Disney in their hotel division and helped create "the Disney experience" for visitors.  It was all about the total experience, not just being happy.  He was very successful and eventually left Disney to become a very successful motivational speaker.

I can see about Sami and I signing - if anyone is interested just send me a private message.  We'd have to open the packaging to do it, but if you're okay with that I think we can make it happen.  Oh, and I'd say this is kind of a rave review:
