Sunday afternoon greetings!  This was a Lima day for us and as soon as we got home we did a little "nosy neighboring."  The house kitty-corner to ours is for sale and open today, so Richard, Mary Linda, and I went to see it.  Not one of us is ready to move across the street, but we're hoping they can sell it for what they're asking.

Thanks to all for the kind words.

I don't think I can stand to watch the Emmy Awards tonight.....so many UNworthy people and series are nominated.....or I guess I should say....series I don't like or watch and people whose talents I don't appreciate.....

Watching a weird movie called Colma the Musical, which is set in a town with more dead people than living.

DR Jeanne -- you asked about the DC weather.  We've had some nice days--not too humid. Temps in the low 80s.   Cooler today.

Glad to know those Vixes are safely ensconced in Florida, enjoying a well deserved vacation.

Vixmom, as nice as the Downtown Disney area still is, I strongly believe they unnecessarily threw away so much of what made it great and better diversified in terms of activities.  The original Pleasure Island was unique and wonderful.  I'm thinking back ten to fifteen years ago.

I agree I have fond memories of the Adventures Club I wish they would bring that back

What a perfect day. The commute to universal took no time at all, the parks were not at all crowded, by 11:30 we had done the most popular rides

Escape from Gringotts
Kings Cross to Hogwarts train ride
Escape from Hogwarts
Dueling Dragons roller coaster
Hogwarts to kings Cross train ride

Lunch was at the Leakey cauldron in Duagon alley

Had a very good matinee with a very appreciative third of a house.  Despite rave reviews on Inside Out, we had this exact same kind of second week - we really gathered steam on week three, and hopefully that will be the case for our show.

Then we had a meal at the Coral Cafe. As we were finishing, the Emmys came on - I thought the opening number was horrifyingly awful and the person who did it thought he was ever so funny, which is my problem with most people who do comedy today - they just find themselves frighteningly funny while I just find them frightening.

And I am home from a 3-hour dinner at Cafe Frida with my adopted son Joshie, my conductor-pianoist friend John Bell, and my absolute favorite musical director of choice Rob Berman. They treated me to a fantastic Mexican dinner and i had two pomegranate frozen margaritas and then they sent me into shock and a crying jag: they gave me a new iMac purchasaed by the three of them.

I am still in shock and flooded with such overwhelming gratitude to be blessed with such caring and fantastic friends on New York and on HHW (you know who you are, and I will never forget). Some days when my world seems a carload of crap I need to remember this.
