TOD:

I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I am a product of the disco era. There, I said it. Now that means I also have to confess to doing The Hussle more than once. I've also done The Hora more than once, and many other Israeli line dances as I used to take Israeli dance classes. I remember doing the Hokie Pokie at an ice skating rink. Putting your left foot in and your left foot out while on ice skates was somewhat challenging, but I don't think I ever fell down, even once. I'm too young to have done 50s dances like The Mashed Potato or the The Twist. It's too bad because I think those would have been more fun than The Hussle.

DR Jrand, it is good to hear the new medication is helping your father, and as a result your mother.

Thursday morning greetings!  My objective for today is to finish reading Kim Wright's The Canterbury Sisters and return it to the library.  It's been good to have a few quiet days before I'm very busy tomorrow and Saturday - grantwriters' conference tomorrow in Yellow Springs and art classes Saturday in Cincinnati.

DR Ginny I love my two new purses.  Thank you for finding them for me.  They arrived just in time for me to take one on our trip.

Amy, I didn't see your post earlier. I love doing the Hustle. Sadly, however, I only know a few steps. Still, it's fun when the DJ spins some Gloria Gaynor or Maxine Nightingale.

DR AMY Disco is something to be proud of!

The hustle was a nice smooth couple dance or it could be done in a group or line....it was great!!!

And the song was very catchy!

While I was finishing my book, Richard did something we've been threatening to do for some time - cancelled our landline.

Bye-bye, telemarketers, scammers, and robocalls!

There are probably some tongues wagging in our dentist's, insurance agents's, and optometrist's offices because he called and gave them our cell numbers.  We have different area codes and it sounds like I've picked up and moved to Dayton!

I've put some notes on the presentation together: composers, number of works, styles, etc. I've also printed out campus maps, driving directions, emails about where to be when, etc.  I now have a week to finesse everything.

Susanna Moross Tarjan just called me that "Fresh Air," the NPR program, will review THE GOLDEN APPLE recording today. It's on a 2:00 here, so I will listen to that.

So far they haven't found us on our new land line.  A few found Keith on his cell when it was our main phone.

I don't "do" dancing.  Except on stage.

Ditto!

I'm up, I'm up.  I awoke at eight forty thanks to yet more ringing from bad people I don't know.  I stayed in bed and eventually fell back asleep so I think I probably got six or seven hours.

You made the paper today, but probably not the web version.  I clipped the article and will pop it in the mail for you.

The first recognizable dance I ever did was The Bunny Hop!

Before that early 1950s craze, I'm sure I danced around a lot...the "gotta-go hoochie coochie" was probably my most oft-repeated dance.

Nowadays, I do a "gotta-go gotta-go gotta-go right now Hoochie Coochie".  Thankfully, it's not all that often, but it's what can make me dance a bit.

Hey, I'm 67 years old.  I'm both colorful and progressively confrontational about the tiresomeness of aging.

Besides Stephen Sondheim, what Broadway writers can you think of in the past 30 years?  I've got these: Jerry Herman, Michael John LaChiusa, Jonathan Larsen, Jason Robert Brown, Jeanine Tesori, and Maury Yeston.  I feel I've missed someone.
