Understandable DR ELMORE.

My mother seems to have come down with the flu - so I am dealing with that....and the concerned people who keep ringing my doorbell without calling first.....

What a shame.  Vibes she will soon be well.  You are still in the time period where people do just stop by.  I suggest putting a note on the doorbell asking it not be rung..  Maybe a notepad too so people can leave messages that they stopped by.

It is quite long with several petitions including specific petitions for individuals.  When I got to th part her I had to red out we pray for the -------family as they mourn the loss and celebrate the life of Ryan I got choked up and had to pause and when I had gathered myself enough to continue, tears still rolling down my cheeks, I looked out to the congregation to see 300 people in tears....Ryan was such a huge part of our congregation for the past 23 years.  he is sorely missed

Back from a wonderful closing performance and then food.  We had about seventy people, so that was great.  They were mostly a really great audience - we did have some kids around eight, and this is just not a show for anyone under ten.  Anyone over ten, perfect.  One mom and eleven-year-old gal had come all the way from Orange County to see it - they'd read about it.  The girl told me it was her life story on the stage.  That always makes me feel like we've done something right.

Genghis Cohen was great.  I gave Sami two gifts - the first was my working draft of the title song Welcome to My World - I never give things like that away, but I inscribed to her lovingly, and she loved getting it - she can see where I fix lines, add things, plus I'd also scribbled in the margin that the show should start with Molly doing the cell phone announcement.

The second gift was a Hirschfield-like sketch of her by James Mulligan - the great Disney artist and fellow who did the Red Gold cover - he imagined Molly/Sami as a Disney girl - he really captured her and she's now the proud owner of a Mulligan original.  They gave me a wonderful book of photos and stuff from our long journey here - the private reading, the workshop and the show.  Wonderful.

I, of course, am all emotional now because despite some of Sami's craziness and how difficult that is to deal with, this has been a wonderful experience and a huge life-changing growth thing for her.  In the last two weeks especially, she found the show and her inner Molly and it's been glorious to watch.  I'll miss that part of it.  It's why I love working with kids - there's just nothing quite as rewarding.

Sami asked for the final show if she could choose the audience member for the Frog bit.  I said yes, knowing she would choose me, but while it's much more fun with someone who isn't prepared, I had a great time and I gave her everything she needed to land all the usual comic bits.

Yesterday we went to see Dames at Sea.  It was terrific.  Lots of dancing and nice songs.  The only one I was familiar with before seeing the show was "It's You."  The rest of the score is good too.

The weather has improved greatly.  It was actually sunny today and promises to be for the next four days with temps in the high 60's or low 70's.

I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the posts and notes about this show. Really looking forward to hearing the CD when it arrives in the mail.

That's a show I'd love to see again.

"Pensacola" is a hilarious song.

Well, I have been home all day, just watching TV and doing some laundry.  I now want to get out of my house and get something to eat.
