That sounds like a really interesting play, DR George! Looking forward to your full report.

Thanks, Sing!  I don't know what the run time is, but I should be able to report back before the end of today.

Very interesting notes today, bk. I don't know much about film, but I certainly enjoy reading about it.

Ditto and ditto!  I'm going to Costco at my lunchtime to see if they have it in stock.  However, they don't really seem to have very many DVDs or Blu-rays anymore. :-\

It seems to be the end of that era.

I seem to have wrenched something in my lower back. No dancing and not much walking for me tonight.

Always thought Pam Myers would have sung the hell out of Leona in Do I Hear a Waltz?

Her version of "What Did I Have That I Don't Have?" from Lerner, Loewe, Lane & Friends is my absolute favorite version.  As much as I love me some Babs, I LOVE Pam's version of that song. :D

And speaking of Spartacus, does anyone else have THIS studio musical version from 1992, featuring Catherine Zeta-Jones (who sounds really good on it) and Anthony Hopkins as Spartacus?  (Don't worry, it's a spoken role. ;) )

RE: SPARTACUS

I recall John Ireland telling me that his role in the film was originally supposed to be a two week job.  He was supposed to be killed when Spartacus and the gladiators broke out of the gladiator school.

But, Kirk Douglas liked John and he insisted on keeping him on the film until the final big battle scene.

How's that for an unimportant film fact?

Great story, Druxy.

I enjoyed it.

Reporting in from the Fitton Center!  There are photos on Facebook that someone might be able to post here.  Can't do it myself with my phone.  So far, so good!
