It is a usuAl thing in diners and delis .... What about the rest of the country? Tell e DRs all, is this truly only a NY tradition ?I've never experienced this in any restaurant that I've ever been to. Maybe that's just a reflection on the "quality" (or lack thereof) of the restaurants that I've been to. You need to experience a proper Jewish deli.Seriously! People! Get with the program! Get your bloomin' arses to a Jewish Deli! NOW!!

Welcome to my world.
This is what I'm giving all the men on my list for the holidays:
Due to the way PDFs work and they way this was all laid out, and because we also sell single sheets, there was no real way to do consecutive page numbers, too. There is one typo for those who'd like to fix it - it's in I Want at the end of the song - they lyric should read "I want to have three kids, one girl, two boys" the typo version reads I want to have three kids one girl, one boy - someone doing the take-down isn't very good at math or they would have caught it.
I hadn't noticed that before.
In my experience, it's delis, specifically, that put out the pickles and sometimes other accoutrements such as slaw, pickled carrots or whatnot. I'm also pretty sure that the delis in my past, in other locales, did likewise.Vixmom, do the the NYC/LI/NJ diners do it, too, for sure? I don't think the New England ones do. But whenever and wherever it's done, it's a tradition I love.
I had a long drawn out dream this morning. I was working on this film staring Ian McKellan and Judi Dench. it took place at a university. Interestingly, Sir Ian was playing a straight English professor and Dame Judi was playing a lesbian university president, and they were fighting over the love of a young female student, who was in love with the handsome and virile P.E. instructor. They had reached the pivotal scene in the film, and they were stuck with how to play the final scene. Fortunately, I, the lowly stage hand stepped forward and saved the film.
I actually am going to come in late to work tomorrow, because I have a scheduled dentist appointment in the morning. I hope that my having a cold won't affect my dental appointment. We'll see.Until later!
I told the Vixter if we won a lot of money we would go to Florida and I would get a proper Long Island diner set up on 4 or 192...Open 24 hours a day and an extensive menu. Of course I wouldn't work there I would just rake in the profits
