Went to usher for Robert Earl Keen's country Christmas show. They sold more beer at this event last year than any other event, so they set up six extra beer bars in the theater lobbies and then took trays of beers into the theater like it was a ballgame. And the people drank and drank and drank.

I only saw a little of the show, but I got to hear all of it. It's not my thing (I didn't know a single song and everybody else was singing along) but I could appreciate the musicianship. It was less Christmas than I thought it would be.

Wednesday morning greetings!  I've vacuumed the family room and spread the skirt under the Christmas tree.  Next on my list is grocery shopping for the household and for tomorrow night's coloring party with my book group.  Then, Richard and I are going to the new shopping center nearby to - I hope - finish up the major Christmas shopping.

Ask BK

What is your favorite stage farce that you've seen?

I've enjoyed Bedroom Farce and A Flea in Her Ear (in Gower Champion's wonderful production), and Noises Off.

Ask BK

Do you think a play like Deathtrap could be successful today with the internet and the social media that all the twists would not bet revealed despite someone saying "Spoiler Alert".

When I saw Deathtrap In NYC I went in knowing nothing about it despite it being a good play and being fooled and thrilled along with the audience and not revealing anything when I was taken to another production of it in Toronto.

Well, certainly the Internet has ruined any chance of a surprise for anything, spoilers or not.  It's quite disgusting and most people who reveal these things happily are jerks - but even the ones who just say "ooh, the twist is great" ruin it because everyone knows a "twist" is coming and once you know that or have that planted in your head you figure it out.

In another hour, I shall board a 104 bus and head down to City Center.  I look forward to seeing Joshie and looking over the original 1776 scores.

I have found a Vocal Director/Pianist for the show so that the director doesn't have to do without for the first 4 weeks of rehearsal......

Yep. We were trying to decipher how largew the actual Broadway orchestra was. The orchestration was reduced for the tour, and that's what MTI rents.

Yikes! :o Doesn't really sound like a very good listening experience.  Everyone else would annoy me too, too much.
