How times have changed.

I have not seen any of the movies that got Oscar nominations this morning.  Not one.

Including actor nominations, I have seen:
The Martian
Creed
Mad Max

I want to see:
Bridge of Spies
Trumbo
Steve Jobs
Brooklyn

Of interest to see:
Spotlight
The Big Short

Of the nominated movies, I've only seen "The Martian."

DR George, fire the usher, who should be setting some sort of model behhavior and control over the audience. The behavior with the cell phone was ridiculous.  If you have a problem, take your ass out of the theatre after notifying your supervisor of a personal problem.  If there was no problem, then the usher should never be allowed to set foot in a theatre again.

I has spoke.

I agree...just not as strongly. ;) I agree that if she had a problem that she needed to keep track of, she shouldn't have stayed there.  The house managers would've been very understanding.  I wasn't able to leave my area, otherwise I probably would have gone to one of the house managers.  I am going to sent an e-mail to the volunteer coordinator.

We are not supposed to even have our phones on our person when we usher. They can't really enforce that but they can fire you if you're caught using it while on your shift.

Yikes!  WCPA isn't that restrictive...fortunately.

As for movies with any nomination, I've also seen "Ex Machina," "Inside Out," and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

That's it. :-\

I liked Brian Bedford in that movie very much....a very strange Ross Hunter production...I even liked the girl in the movie....Julie Sommars.....

We were gone 3 1/2 weeks for this trip.  This may have been our longest trip, at least I don't believe we have ever been gone for more days.

I would have preferred a shorter trip by reducing the number of days at sea.

Topic of the Day:  the two longest trips that I can remember taking (I don't know about trips when I was a kid) were each 10 days or so.  I went to NYC in December of 1995 (exactly 20 years ago last month!), and London in December of 2001 (just three months after 9/11).  We saw shows, walked around, ate, bought stuff, a lot of touristy stuff.  I'd love to go back to either place. :)

I like Julie Sommars very much.  Unfortunately she hasn't done anything since Matlock.

Well, on my way back from the bodega, I did just now see the ghost at the postboxes again.  Second time. Does that count?

Yes, I had some glitchiness earlier on my MacBook, but I'm OK here now on my iPad.

I futzed and finessed, had a cup of chicken soup and a sandwich, and have written two new pages.

As expected, I had one of the unwanted and unnecessary e-mails this morning and I did as promised - nuked it without reading it.

I was always resistant to the idea of Lady Bracknell played by a man; to me, Dame Edith Evans owns the role still.  That said, Brian Bedford was quite amazing in the last delightful Broadway revival of The Importance of Being Earnest.

I think that production of Importance with Bedford's Lady Bracknell is available on digital video for download.
