Compared to The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, and The Wiz.....I think GREASE "Live" was practically a Broadway show!

But compared to the movie - which is was trying to be just like - it was a D+.  Neither of the leads on TV compared at all to JT or ONJ....Julianne Hough was especially second rate.....her singing was bad and her acting was.....less than high school.....

TOD - I'm with Larry on this one.  Why can't they just video tape real productions and either show them on PBS or even do a pay-per-view?   Sondheim and Lloyd-Webber had it down when they used to film their shows, whether the original production or a staged production on a sound stage - at least it felt like a musical and there were no interruptions.

That as said - my DVR failed to record "Grease LIVE" AND last night's Downton Abbey.   I'll be looking for the on-demand of "Grease LIVE" and looking forward to my download of Downton from the iTunes.

This afternoon, I begin vocal rehearsals for The Lion King Jr - which will require most of my day brushing up on my African dialects so I don't look like a fool in front of 12-14 year olds today!

Downton should be on pbs.org today and for the next week.

Actually, I have a season pass on iTunes and have purchased the season already.  The download will be ready later today, I'm sure.

I have completed my taxes.

I get a big $6 refund from President Obama, and a bigger $57 refund from Governor Pence.....which is better than paying them anything....MORE.

Grease was live on the East Coast.

I am curious, there was a very bad sound problem during "Hopeless Devoted To You".  IT wasn't with the actual singing. But there was a really bad static while she was singing. Were they able to fix this for the West Coast?  I was really disappointed that they couldn't get rid of it at any point during the song.

Ar one point, during the dance-off in the gym, the sound went off for about 15 seconds.

Yes that happened too. But the bad static during the entire "Hopelessly Devoted To You" was really bad on the East Coast. Completely ruined the song for me.

The commercials did not bother me at all.  I just did something else for a bit whenever I would catch up. So I pretty much breezed through the whole show without having to wait.

Grease Live will probably be on again. At least here it is on tonight on E!.  And Downton Abbey replays every Sunday at 8pm before the 9pm showing (or at least here it does every week). Although not sure if E! and E! here in Canada show the same shows.

DR Laura - you can always buy a stand-alone wireless mouse, even if your laptop didn't come with one. I hate using trackpads.

Third proofer got me the manuscript - very little and only five things to run by Muse Margaret whenever she gets home.  Think I'll go get some food now.
