up to DR SINGDAW's neighborhood.

It's a-flyin'!  Not nearly as bad as for DR Cillaliz, but it's coming down fast and furious and we have several inches already.

I also poured a bunch of feed under the bush where a lot of birds seem to be living.  they could get to that food without having to get into the wind and snow

I'm not sure I would have thought of that.

I started putting it there when the Cooper's Hawk was killing the birds and small mammals that were out in the open

I'm sure they appreciated your putting the food in a safe spot :)

My mom makes an interesting peach pie. Sometimes I loved it, sometimes I didn't

Even your mother's cooking is funny :)

Well, she doesn't like to cook, so sometimes she has patience with it and it's great and sometimes she doesn't so it's not as great.....

Funny.

My mother was an incredible cook and baker.  My list of favorite food is a mile long.  I will try not to make it that long.

Dinner:
Shepards pie (I have never had anyone come close to hers)
Prime rib with Yorkshire pudding (a favorite with company)
Wild rice, often stuffed in gamish corn hen
Spaghetti with meat sauce, truly better better than most restaurants (company would request it)
Even her hamburgers were the best
leg of lamb

Desserts:
Sour cream cheese cake
Danish apple pie
Custard pie
dark fruit cake for Christmas
Chocolate cake
Butter cookies

She baked other desserts but company always insisted on her cheese cake or apple pie

TOD Desserts: We had an overproducing lemon tree, so she made lemon pie quite often in the winter/spring.

Also, grasshopper pie. Anyone remember that?

Interesting.  I can't see this image here at work.  I'll have to check this when I get home, but right now I get the message:

And I am home.  I proofread the Overture and the new ending for "Taking A Chance on Love" and Joshie told me to get out and come back tomorrow.

I need a nap.

Watched the final GALAVANT last night.

It's silly, but fun.  Love the songs.

They left an opening for a 3rd season, but I doubt if there will be one.  Hopefully, there will be a DVD of Season 1 & 2 soon.

I really like Galavant also, but as far as I know, DVDs haven't been released at all for this show.  Maybe they'll do a "complete series" release after it's officially cancelled. :-\

Our grandmothers' cooking --

That IS a good idea, as an addendum to this TOD or perhaps another one.

I never grew up with either of my grandmothers.  One was in California and the other was in Germany.  We did live near each of them for short periods of time when I was very young, but I don't remember anything about what they may have made to eat.

I had grasshopper pie for my birthday several years in a row when I was younger. Haven't had it in ages.

I forgot to mention Mom's lemon bars. I don't know what makes them better than anyone else's but they are memorably tart.

Tuesday afternoon greetings!  I've been to Dayton for lunch with the grantwriters.  Today they ordered in Chinese food, which was quite tasty.  But, I think it may have had MSG in it because I have kind of a sick headache.

The burnt cream that I had was REALLY good, but so was the chocolate cake that you got.  I just had WAY too much overall.  But it was worth it. :D

I would not like those as I pucker at tart.  Interesting too as I don't normally like lemon bars since they tend to be too sweet.
