Then I went to a retirement party for a former co-worker.

The guest of honor could have retired when I was still working.

At least, she was old enough to have retired.

So, she really picked the right time of year to retire.

I have never seen her property, nor would I ask her where she lives.

I think she would have been shocked if I had ever asked for her address.

And yet she has probably told me more about her family, her marriages, and her health problems than any other co-worker.

I realized as I was leaving the restaurant today, that I probably will never see her again.

Such are the dynamics you have with certain people at work.

And yet, I have been out with some supervisors or had lunch at a boss's house, but still known very little of their personal lives.

And best of all, the retirement party was at a Azteca, and I was really in the mood for some American-Mexican food.

Good news for Kindle and Nook readers - the ePub guy got me the stuff back - it looks great and I've already uploaded it to Amazon Kindle and it should go live within 24 hours.  I also uploaded to Nook, but I'm a new vendor there so that's at least twenty-four hours.  But whew!  I may also have this guy to Murder at the Hollywood Division, since that one never got done.  Can someone who got Red Gold tell me if that one looks okay?  When I do the Hofstetter then I think all the books will have eBooks.

You mean we can read your new book on a Kindle within the next 24 hours?

So I'm told - the Nook version is a pain in the ass and I think that will take a few days due to their stupid verification process.

I know some here like to keep their hardcovers in pristine condition.  Funny thing about the .mobi file version that Kindle loves - it looks fantastic, but my short little book of 179 pages is about 250 pages in that format, whereas in the ePub file format on the Nook it's about 130 pages.  Go know.

As to my recent ills, I have to report that I feel really good.

Not only that, but I am getting great sleep at night thanks to the CPAP!

This is great news Ron :) :) :)

That is amazing how quick the turnaround is on Kindle.
