Well, thanks to the 2015 tax refunds, I am currently debt free. I've got new glasses, paid my union dues for 2016, installed Finale, paid a copyist for digitizing several versions of a choral score, paid off my debt for New World Records promotional CDs, and on Friday I will ship 3 or 4 more cartons of papers, scores, etc. to Miami University Library.

And I have money left!

On my slow walk back from Staples, Zabar's, and Fed Ex, a man walking his dog passed me, and the dog gave me a look that said "why are you moving so slow?"

One less thing to deal with :)

2 1/2 months doesn't seem too long for S.S.

My computer keeps alerting me that my keyboard is low on batteries.  It doesn't run on batteries!

If it does, I have no idea where the fat hell they are.

Has anyone ever noticed that John Garfield sounds a lot like Gene Kelly? Or maybe it's my ear.

Watching something called We Were Strangers, a John Houston movie about Cuban revolutionaries.

Wednesday morning afternoon greetings!  Today is the first day since last Wednesday that one or both of us has not had to be someplace or be ready for something in the morning.  We both slept a bit late and I watched a bit of the Supreme Court nomination chit chat while Richard went out for a walk.

Just got a note from the conductor of the upcoming high school MUSIC MAN.  The kids are finding the orchestra parts really challenging.

Having recently suffered through too many YouTube videos myself, I feel   hear his pain.  I hope they can rise to the occasion.  The last thing this show needs is another shitty performance of smears and splats.  Think, men.  Think.

Wayne Blood. Joshie, and Peter Foley have come to my rescue.  It has to do with the new keyboard that came with this new iMac and the fact that I'm using my old keyboard.

I'm up, I'm up - slept for only about ninety minutes or so, then was up until about six.  So I guess I got five or six hours overall.

I wish this moronic Daylight Savings Time would be abolished. I hate it.

What I think is weird is that Daylight Saving Time is about 8 months of the year, and "real" time is only about 4 months.  What's that all about??

DR ELMORE that is good news - money wise.

I am using a wireless keyboard and mouse with my new computer instead of the USB ones that came with it.  I can always use the extra USB port for something else.

Change of plans.  They really need me at THE MUSIC MAN rehearsal tomorrow...enough that I'm going to accommodate them.  So, instead of cooking our St. Pat's corned beef feast through the day, I'm cooking the beef today.  Now.  The house smells of it as we speak.  (Yum.)  I'll refrigerate it overnight, and do the trimming and slicing tomorrow morning.  I'll then cut up the potatoes, carrots, and the Oxford Comma cabbage, so those will be ready to cook.  Then I'll go off and do the rehearsal and get back around 6 p.m., whereupon the veggies can cook and the corned beef be re-warmed.

Been listening and following BEAUTY AND THE BEEF BEAST all along, and I do believe I'd forgotten more about it than I knew.  (hmmm...)

Anyway, FINALE will have to wait, I'm afraid.  Boo hoo.  I'm committing to a good long session with it on Friday.

And that's the end of my little story.
