Listening to Sondheim at the Movies while working. Nice work, BK and Elmore.

Thank you!  I wish I felt the same. I think that album is my least favorite of all I worked on for BK. Outside of "Back In Business," I think my work is not as good as it should have been.  I cannot put my finger on what bothers me, but the cast is good, BK did fine, but . . .

My only criticism is that Gary Beach is a little too florid for my tastes.

Elmore, is there an Appalachian take on Go Tell Aunt Rhody?

I had never thought about dead geese.  I was hoping for something funny about dead people.  i wish there were something like "Massa's in the cold cold ground."

I just read all the reviews for "Tuck Everlasting." I didn't care much about seeing it, but I want to see the final ballet which got most of the praise from every critic.

I'm reading The Great American Whatever by Tim Federle, who wrote the Tuck book. It's not my favorite of his works. But it's okay.

Natalie Babbitt wrote "Tuck Everlasting." I was given the book for my 30th birthday, a year after it was published.  Or did he do-write the libretto with Claudia Shear?

It is 4:30 in the afternoon, and as far as I know, Ken is still in bed.  I called him at 1:00 and he was sleeping.  He said he planned to go back to sleep when I got through with the conversation.

Perhaps I shall return to my cabin for a bit of meditation.

"XXX is a little too florid for my tastes" would be a wonderful title for a book

"The Flamingo is a little too Florida for my tastes" would also be a great title for something.

I read that as "medication"...twice.

It's difficult to imagine TCB being 8 hours ahead of PDT.

Of course, I spent much of my Navy career in time zones 9 hours ahead of West Coast time.  But at that time, I had no internet with which to keep in touch with folks.

And then I had family and friends who could not grasp the time difference (usually 6 hours vice 9) and would call me in the wee hours of my mornings.

Oh, well.  I never turned a single caller away or made them feel they were interrupting my sleep.  In almost each call, they would "get" that it was only 3 a.m. where I was.  By then, however, we'd have said as much as we needed to say.

Wednesday afternoon greetings!  Richard's GI procedures are complete with clear reports on both.  We are home, he's had a sandwich, and is watching War Games.

DR Jane I did not go out to dinner yesterday.  I did go out on the weekend (my niece had swim team yesterday and really didn't want to miss it).

I think I've replaced the actor - Dennis Kyle - but Dennis had once agreed to do Li'l Abner, showed up for the first rehearsal and told me it was too difficult to get there.  So, he's coming today and we'll see how that goes - he jumped at it, I must say, so that was good, and he's very talented.  He just played Lumierre in Beauty and the Beast at one of the big musical houses here.  But I'm going to have someone else in my back pocket just in case.

My old OLD friend saw Madeleine Sherwood as Abigail Williams in THE CRUCIBLE in 1953, and she was so good at being evil and mean that he didn't like her in anything else she ever did.

He said her face was demonic.....

You can sort of see it in this photo....

Met Madeline Sherwood once in upstate New York. She was very nice but her handler should have been dismissed. It was a retreat. Not something exclusive or hoity-toity.

Anything rated XXX is almost always too florid for my credulous simplicities, Ron. I think that runs more towards Elmore's video collection.

Goddam! I wish I were not so technically challenged.  The DVD player is on but nothing's playing.  I don't know if it's damaged, I've connected the cable incorrectly, or if i'm missed doing something.  I hate it.

Shit.

Thanks to DRs George, JRand, John G, Jane, and FJL for the nice comments about Richard.  We've both napped this afternoon.
