I had a scare just now coming back from market and Staples, where the credit card worked in the Print Dept.:  my key would not turn in the lock and I thought I was locked out of my space. I'm finally inside and i will never use that lock again.

I am listening to the most wonderful abum of British song arrangements by Sir Charles Mackerras, who also conducts, and Ernest Tomlinson.  The orchestrations and arrangements for soprano, bass, and chorus are ingenious and delicious!

I'm at the theater and we're just waiting to start the cue-to-cue.  I don't know what we're waiting for, though.

I'm up, I'm up - definitely got nine hours of sleep, so that was good.  I do think I'll try a jog in thirty minutes or so.

I finished the arrangment I needed to adjust for my publisher and I listened to the new recording of Tales of Tinseltown.  I worked on trhe 1985 showcase, got dropped when t went to the George Street Theatre later, then did it in San Diego for the Gaslamp Quarter Theatre, and then turned it down when I was caught up in the Houston Grand Opera production of Babes in Toyland.

I was asked to work on this reording, but it was during the height - or depths - last year of my lousy health when I also turned down BK's Li'l Abner. Some of the recording cast sates back to 1985, and I miss Jason Graae on the recording.

Our q2q is going well.  Intermission just ended and we're now on to act 2.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  Richard and I went to a church he likes in downtown Dayton, followed by coffee at Starbucks and lunch at First Watch.  I'm home, have changed my clothes, and I'm trying to talk myself into visiting Mom.

I don't know if anyone's interested, but I found this 2012 BBC Proms broadcast of "The Lusty Month of May," conducted by John Wilson, and it's the complete Broadway number, including all of Trude Rittman's dance arrangement, which I heard when I saw the show around 1962, but which I never thought I'd ever hear again.

I asked Trude why the dance music had so many meter changes - 2/2, 6/4, 2/2. 3/4 - and she told me: choreographer Hanya Holm could never count.
