These are just breathtaking shots, DR Jane. What megapixel camera do you have?

Mine's a couple of years old - 2.1 megapixels. I can see it's time for an upgrade!

I could have used DRLaura’s camera to get a closer shot of these Wood Ducks that kept swimming away from me.

Matt H we have the Canon PowerShot S 410 with the zoom lens.  Keith purchased it on line.

The photo of the ducks really needs to be larger to see them.  They are so beautiful, but alas shy.

SWW, the puppies are so adorable I had to share them with Keith.

Bruce, nice rug story.  Which one did you purchase and what page is it on?

I was negligent and did not thank Tomovoz for his compliment on my photos.  In advance I will apologize if I missed anyone else.

Matt H. I have a great camera but Lithia Park is incredible at this time of year.

Actually, in a very unusual place, I did find it.  IF I buy it, it will come in handy in NYC over Thanksgiving, won't it?

Here's the excerpt from Max Preeo's liner notes for LUTE SONG:

"LUTE SONG's plot tells of a young bride who is separated from her bookish husband when he's summoned by imperial edict to take examinations in the Capital City. When he successfully completes the examinations, he is given a position in the Imperial service, reluctantly leaving home when his wife promises to care for his parents. But once in the service of the arrogant Prince, the young husband is forced to marry a princess and forbidden any communication with his first wife. Famine falls on his village, his parents die of hunger, and the young wife - forced to sell her hair in order to pay for burial fees - is reduced to begging in order to survive. Eventually, she makes her way to the capital and is discovered by the Princess, who munderstands the deep love between the husband and the first wife, relinquishing him to the noble bride so they can live happily ever after."

The notes also reveal that the show cost $185,000 to mount in NYC in 1946. As we know, it ran for 142 performances.

Boy, would I love to hear the eleven o'clock number from that show!

Back from mixing and all went very well.

Jane: The Bella Rug on page 35.

I agree with everything Pogue said.  It is just wacky that adult women think that looking like a prebuscent girl is a good thing.  But, of course, the men who seem to like that are even scarier.

TD:  I know I've answered that question about five times, but I can never remember what my answer is.  Search, you'll find it.

Programmed my remote garage door opener, then programmed my car to accept the remote and now I don't need the remote garage door opener anymore.  Isn't technology swell?

DRJane, those are stunning photos!  I want to walk to that bench in post #92 and while away the hours chatting with my Dear Friend Jane.

I'm just from a lovely dinner at Barrymore's with DRS ben, Jose and Jose's friend Steve.  It was such a joy to finally meet Jose.  So DRBen, I lied.  I did post!

Today, the Philadelphia Inquirer printed an op-ed letter I sent, but I'm kind of bummed out about it--they hacked it to pieces.  This is what I originally sent:

Subject: We The People

Mr. Mark Batchelor, in his Op-Ed letter appearing in Thursday's Inquirer, stated that:

"The Inquirer, nearly every major newspaper and TV news operation in the country, Michael Moore and Hollywood, Europe and every country in the world vs. George Bush and We the People of the United States - and we (a 51 percent majority) still had the intelligence to make up our own minds and won."

I have news for Mr. Batchelor:  The people at The Inquirer, along with the people at all the other major newspapers and TV news operations in the country, along with Hollywood and, yes, even along with Michael Moore, are also We The People.  And just because the above mentioned parties (myself included) opposed Bush and his administration and sought to remove him from office, that does not make us any less part of We The People.  We are all Americans and the same canopy of Democracy covers us all.  We  the People is not a personal victory shroud with which George Bush and his supporters can wrap themselves.  We The People encompasses all of us who voted on Tuesday, no matter who we voted for or who we voted against.

Here's what appeared in paper this morning:

'We' includes us all

Re: "A very sweet victory for We the People," letter, Nov. 4:

The writer said that The Inquirer, "nearly every major newspaper and TV news operation in the country, Michael Moore and Hollywood, Europe and every country in the world" opposed George Bush and "We the People of the United States," yet "we (a 51 percent majority) still had the intelligence to make up our own minds and won."

Well, the named opponents of Bush's reelection (myself included) are also We the People. We are all Americans, and the same canopy of democracy covers us all. "We the People" is not a personal victory shroud with which President Bush and his supporters can wrap themselves.

What a butcher job!  I was going to write to the op-ed editor to complain, but I decided not to.  I plan on writing more letters, and I don't want to get on their "cranky old nut" blacklist too soon.

Matt H., thanks for the post. I will use it in the booklet I make for the CD.

Jane, again, those are gorgeous pictures. While we live in a city with 4 real seasons, we don't often see that beautiful kind of foilage, even in Central Park. It means trips out of the city to see it.

I just got back from a lovely dinner with Larry, Jose and Steve (friend of Jose). We went to Barrymore's and had a wild and wooly conversation about many and sundried things, but, like at Joe Allen's, what happens at Barrymore's stays at Barrymore's. Dirt was dished, but only in live time. No repeats from this child.

Hamburgers seemed to be the order of the night. I had a cheddar burger, as did DR Elmore/Larry and Jose had a Blue Cheese burger while sensible Steve had pasta.

I think George Hearn was eating near us but left before we could really ascertain if it was him.

Jose and Steve are now cozily ensconsed in the Music Box Theatre watching an early preview of Dame Edna.

I walked past the Marrriot Marquis Theatre as people were pouring in for the very first preview performance of the revival of La Cage aux Folles.

And that, my friends, is the report from Chelsea, New York.

P.S. Larry, I knew you would post. You can't stay away. Don't try and fool me, mister ;-)

Laura, you and Jane should open a photography class.

Dear Jane, I am sorry to report that no cameras were present at Barrymore's. We will have to make sure we have cameras for Mr. BKs outing at the bookstore and any partay before or after said event.
