Monday morning greetings!  We are waiting for a crew to come to wash our windows inside and out.  Of course, it looks like rain...

I hired a professional window washer before selling my last house, and wondered afterwards why I hadn't done it sooner. It's nice to look out of CLEAN windows.

Back to eating, I suspect. I think he wants some crunch after the too-sweet.

There's an interesting article in today's NY Times about why people regain weight after successful weight loss. IMO, the "Biggest Loser" puts too much emphasis on rapid weight loss; slow and gradual is better. There are some new studies, as noted in the article, about how your metabolism slows down after weight loss.

Tom, have you seen many other people on the cruise with scooters like yours? I would think they'd be quite popular in some circles.

Jane, you mentioned a week or so ago that you're waiting for the open enrollment season for Medicare. I meant to mention that if you move then you don't have to wait. I don't know how long that window is, though.

There were several on the cruise, some of them were probably rentals.  A lot of people commented on mine, and several on canes or in wheelchairs asked questions on the price and the different models.

Talked to my friend, Mickey, awhile ago. She said Glenn had slept easily through the night and was sleeping much of today. He was awake earlier and got on his iPad to read a few emails. One was from me. It had a picture of the love vine or flame vine that they gave me a few year's back. It's not really supposed to make it this far north, because the winters can get really cold. Theirs died, but mine has proven to be one tough cookie and it's in bloom. She said he was pleased.

I'm sure Glenn appreciated your sending the photo of your lovely flowers.

Cab drivers are a big no-no.  No PIN, no credit card.

Who has a PIN for credit vs debit?

Neither Ken, nor I have any PINs four our cards.

I've never heard of credit cards having PINs, only debit cards.  If you had one of those, would that vwork?  I also know that debit cards don't have the protections that credit cards have, so that's an issue.

I didn't want to try.  This is the week that all my bills come out of my checking account.  I don't want to risk any kind of screw up.

That's understandable.

Salvador was the only stop on our last trip that we needed to get some currency.  The rest of the time we used credit cards or went without.

I recall having the local currency in Copenhagen when we were there but I'm sure we also used credit cards.

Some of the lager shops in Tivoli could take the cards with the new chip, but others just said, "Sorry."

We ended up using all of our Danish cash for cabs.

Heller thinks I need this:

Nice!  I got something like to upconvert from the RCA cables to HDMI, but I got a cheap, crappy one and it didn't work too well.  Hopefully, yours will be great!

We made peach cobbler in a slow cooker today.

We have vanilla ice cream, as well.

A very find near-the-end of our Monday.

Ooo...that sounds delish! ;D

Thanks, however, it will be a year on May 16th since we arrived in Vancouver.  That is way past the the window.  Unfortunately it took a good long while before we realized it would be difficult finding a primary physician that accepts Medicare.

I hired a professional window washer before selling my last house, and wondered afterwards why I hadn't done it sooner. It's nice to look out of CLEAN windows.

We were only in Tiburon for a year and never got around to doing this.  We have a very good one in Ashland and a good one in our second Michigan house, the home before Tiburon.  We had the Michigan guy twice a year.  He would change out the screens and the storm windows depending on the season.

That's what we wanted our crew to do, but when I called a couple of weeks ago, today was the first availability they had.  We couldn't wait for the screens, so Richard, Rob, and I did that part ourselves.
