And the word of the day is: TRANCHE!

Bette Davis to Joan Crawford in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane.

But you are Tranche! You are in that chair!

One vaguely interesting but not cohesive dream about accompanying some gal and perhaps some guy in some song.

I have to throw some things together soon and hit the road.  Staying in Morgantown WV tonight and seeing a distant but close (if that makes any sense) branch of the family tomorrow.

The photo of those projections is mouth-watering, BK.

VIBES AND XYLOS for no sore throat, and for a productive day.

That actor:   Oy!

Yesterday was a long day. Those orchestra parts for DO I HEAR A WALTZ are a mess, and several numbers still need some work.  The new things Joshie and i redid played well, and that made us happy.  The sitzprobe began at 2:30, and Rob, orchestra, and cast worked through the numbers.

Much of it sounds really good, although I'm still of the opinion that Ralph Burns, a wonderful big band arranger, was still learning how to write for strings. I don't think he was very good with them.

I think the cast is going to be quite fine. Tenor Richard Troxell, who sang at City Opera and plays Pinkerton in a wonderful 1995 film of Madame Butterfly, is really wonderful,  He and Melissa Errico play well off each other. I love Nancy Opel, so it was great to see her yesterday.

I was thinking DIAL M FOR MURDER and NO WAY OUT for the TOD - but is it a paranoid thriller if the threat is real, at least in the script?
