My bank has a new online banking website that is about 100 times more difficult to use than the previous one......it also has much SMALLER print, and it will no enlarge when I use control/mouse scroll.

It is most annoying.

I sympathize. Over and over, I see perfectly fine websites redesigned--MASSIVELY redesigned--and have to ask, "Why would anyone think this is better?!" One real estate website I used to use quite a bit was redesigned and no longer fits on my screen. It was obviously designed and tested on a large monitor and can't be used on my 13" Macbook. Given how many people use laptops, I'd have to call that pretty stupid. The other day I was so annoyed that I said, "You don't know how to design software!" Software testing has always been given short-shrift, but the decline of work ethic and discipline has made it even worse. IMHO. Honestly, much of today's software should never have been released.

DR Jeanne, Richard had a French dip sandwich and DR ChasSmith and I both had club sandwiches.  Everybody left with half a sandwich.  Richard has apple pie, I have caramel, and DR Chas has pecan.

I think the main culprit is the laptop on the desk that feeds a widescreen monitor.   Folks don't think about their creations not actually being viewable on the laptop...that's just a useful tool for them.

We had a dee-lightful lunch.  Richard and I left with enough leftovers for our dinner and DR ChasSmith has road food in case he gets stranded on his way to Columbus.  It was free pie day at O'Charley's, so we all have dessert, too!

Squinty or not, it is wonderful to see you together :)

Right after I got off the phone with the library OverDrive finally appeared with the following notice:

We're sorry!

This site is temporarily unavailable. It will be back shortly, so please check back soon.

I just went into my library's OverDrive site and had no trouble.  It must be because of some trouble with your library.

Thanks for looking.  The librarian had been told it was nationwide, but then someone said they were fine in Portland.  I don't understand if it is only my library why I can't access it on my tablet.  I have my Ashland library in there too.

Nice photo DR GINNY.....thanks for sharing.  Take home food is always great!

I like not having to worry about what we're having for dinner.

If we went out for lunch we wouldn't even think about dinner, just have a light healthy snack.

Or I might have the second half of a sandwich & leftover pie ;)

DR George it is possible you didn't have a problem with OverDrive because it seems to be back ;)  I should have asked you to check yesterday.

That could've been the difference, but I think that if there were a problem here, I probably would've heard about it through my work.  They always post issues like this to all staff.

I would hope so.  I also think if it were country wide googling it would have come up with something.

Well, I'm off.  I'm supposed to go to see a movie (Hello, My Name is Doris) with a friend of mine, but he was in Seattle today.  Hopefully he'll get back in time.  If not, I'll be at home for the evening.  The movie doesn't start until 9:00 pm, so there's time.

Until later!

Greetings from beautiful downtown Clarion, PA.

Or, as it might read on vintage postcards:  Clarion, Penna.

A fine midnight snack.

The pecan pie (I think of Marnie whenever I say pecan pie) has already taken its place in history.  Yum

Dad is going to be in the hospital for another day at least. They haven't found out what's wrong yet.

Tomorrow they will check his prostate. Or, as my sister says, his prostrate.

I responded back: He is prostrate, but they will check his prostate.

My mom, meanwhile, sounds exhausted. She didn't seem to understand me when I said that she had to take care of herself because Dad had staff taking care of him. And if she isn't well, how will she take care of him when he's at home.
