My meal was filet mignon served medium rare, tender and perfect with a lovel wine sauce, a few asparagus spears, a carrot, some mushrooms and tiny roasted tomatoes and a wedge of of delicate hash browns.  I wish I had my camera for my description does not adequately describe the dish or the lovely presentation

Lovel is delicate herb, not well known, but can add a distinctive touch.

Perhaps DR John G has heard of it. Perhaps he's even eaten it in one of his exotic meals. You know, the ones DR George and I don't wish to try.

Knowing there would be an excellent meal to follow I restricted my self to a couple of steamed dumplings, one  scallop and one shrimp (they also had the fried versions of each) also a  Couple of small pancakes of Peking duck from the Asian food table and a couple of small pieces a flank steak from the carving table oh a a quiche from the passed trays.  They also had tiny glasses of tomato soup with a tiny piece of grilled cheddar cheese sandwich as a garnish. That was good too

Sounds like a most imaginative chef. I would have loved to have seen it all. And maybe sampled a bit, too.

Glad that Vixmom had such a great time. She deserves it. Perhaps more people at her office will also get married.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  We went to Lima today, which leaves Fr. Richard with only 2 more days of his commitment there - Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, July 10.  I may or may not be with him on June 4, depending on what I decide about going to Michigan for my nephew's 50th birthday party.

I fear my day -- nay, my week -- will never live up to vixmom's posts.

What the HELL?  Did someone die and get whisked off to an eater's Paradise, or what?

I wish John G was along to give a better description. The reality far surpassed my poor attempts to report

The food was amazing wth a huge cocktail hour to start and Viennese hour to finish

I know what a cocktail hour is, but what is a Viennese hour?

A Viennese hour is where they have a selection of desserts and aperitifs. For the desserts they had at least 30 different types of cakes, cannoli so, crime bruises, brownies, napoleons,  cream puffs, eclaires, chocolate pudding, jellies, rice pudding, ice cream, tiramisu, fresh fruit, a chocolate fountain, two or three types of ice cream and all the toppings you can imagine, waffles with fresh piped whipped cream and fresh fruit, and I know I am forgetting tons of things

I didn't want to drag my camera to the event and not having a smartphone I have no pictures but my coworkers took plenty and have promised to email them so once I get them I will stare a couple

Vixmom to coworkers: "Oh, dear. I mentioned the wedding on that blog I participate in and they ALWAYS want to see pictures. I can't say I didn't take any."

Cooperative coworkers to Vixmom: "No worries, dear. We'll take plenty."

Were you there? That's uncanny!

There were activities  going on all around the church and the community   The food pantry drive I front of two supermarkets yielded 6 carts full of food.

DR Vixmom, there were many similarities between the wedding reception you attended last night and our nephew's reception in Philadelphia 2 years ago.  But yours was much more special because of the significance of the venue to you and Vixdad!

The person running that activity shared this story:

A woman came over wheeling a shopping cart with five bags filled to the brimmed with canned goods she said I only came in for butter... Took her lb of butter and lefts the rest for the food drive!!

More than half of the men seemed to think. Black tie meant a suit but there were still plenty of tuxedos and Vixdad looked dapper and elegant

Some men I've known: "Black tie? You gotta be kidding! I'll wear a suit. that's the best they'll git!"

That's Keith.
