I agree with Jane and vixmon that Bruce should see a GI specialist. I don't know how Medicare works, but with my HMO, I have to see my primary care physician first and then she refers me to the specialist.

There are flying birds everywhere and they will fly right in front of your face.  We are sitting in the lovely park here while Keith smokes a cigar.  A bird just crapped on a man sitting on a bench across from us.  Keith was then reminded of the bird that crapped on his shoulder this morning.  He wasn't laughing then but he is now.

Lucky for Keith, but not fast enough, I had an antibacterial wipe in my pocket :)

Funny, I thought I had removed the fact I agreed after Keith said that it might scare Bruce. ;D

TOD:

The Wizard of Oz
Babes on Broadway
I Could Go On Singing

I think I liked watching her movies before they were available every day on DVD or on the movie channels.  Seeing a LOT of Judy Garland in a short space of time is almost TOO much.  I like her best on occasional viewings.

I have her television show on DVD and I watch an episode now and then....they are also being shown every Monday night on GET Tv....although there it is edited to get in more commercials.

Exactly. I detest her when she gets all manic.  I want to prop her in the corner till the drugs wear off.

I like her in these:
WIZARD OF OZ
MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS
THE PIRATE ("He asked for me.")
Half of A STAR IN BORN (too damned long!)

I was just catching up yesterday when I received a phone call from my mom .  Her brother , her only sibling, was just diagnosed with advance pancreatic cancer and given 6 months to live.  I don't feel much like posting

Vixmom, that's terrible. :(

Good morning, all.

Too early on the Saturday of a three day holiday weekend.

But I'm accompanying some people in a few songs in a "presentation" this afternoon and must be off my arse and leaving in a couple of hours.
The event:  http://thegarytheolivia.com/farm-art-festival-inspired-by-nature/

That sounds like fun!  Hope it all goes well!

Tomorrow we will be checking in to our original all hotel since they had a cancelation.   We will be upgraded to a suite and have dinner in their restaurant as their guests.

That's great, Jane!

There is not a single comfortable spot in this room, my back hurts.

Darn...that's not great. :P

Besides church, I have a relatively free 3-day weekend.  I may head to the coast on Monday, that's about it.  But as of now, I'm catching up on laundry and thinking of ways to re-arrange my living room.

I just finished viewing BEHIND THE RISING SUN on TCM.

It's an anti-Japanese propaganda movie, made in 1943.  I wanted to see it because it was directed by my late publicity client, Edward Dmytryk, and it starred Tom Neal, one of the principal characters in my play, B MOVIE.

I certainly don't want to get into a political debate here, but while watching the movie, I couldn't help but wonder if it was a coincidence that TCM scheduled this film at the same time as our President's controversial visit to Japan.

 ???

I set down Bright Star and took up John McGlinn's Kurt Weill album. I cannot get enough of the opening of The Firebrand of Florence: "One man's death is another man's living Under the gallow's tree." So brilliant!

I am back from hobnobbing with (Mother) Dolores Hart who gave a lovely reading from ACT ONE (the book).

She's a delightful person.

Oh, one more thing.  The TOD.

I'm going to throw in A CHILD IS WAITING just because no one else has.  In spite of the fact that I haven't seen it since early 1963 when it had just been released.  I don't remember a thing about it, but a Blu-ray has either just been released or will be in the near future, and I always look forward to returning to that type of movie from that type of year; i.e., the early sixties.

And a happy haineshisway.com birthday to Arnold M. Brockman - we used to enjoy his song of the day stuff and then one day he just stopped coming.  Very peculiar as I know everyone here was always very sweet to him.
