Wednesday morning greetings!  We have nothing on our calendars today, which is fine with me.  And we're still eating holiday weekend leftovers, so I don't have to think too hard about what we're having for dinner.

She has been asking to try seafood lately. We had some Long John Silver's fish and chips after our lake excursion.

So I will have a find a place with seafood -- a place I can afford, now that I am unemployed.

She would dip that hook in the water next to the crawdad, and the crawdad would clamp onto the worm within seconds. Then she'd swing the line out onto the bank and stomp on the crawdad. She had the BEST time.

Stomp on it? She should release it and put it back if she's not going to make gumbo.

I appreciate that overview of the two Johns' recordings, DR Elmore.

Whenever I'm looking for one of the Jay/TER recordings I don't have, and there are still several, I'm usually amazed at the apparent scarcity and high pricing.

They are a non-native invasive species here. Game and Fish is happy to have crawdads removed.

Not glad enough to overlook a lack of fishing license, though.

Mail came late at work yesterday.  I was already gone when it arrived.

And what awaited me upon my arrival this morning?

One treasure that I found over the weekend on eBay -- a treasure, a small treasure, for me.

It's the program for the 1943 return engagement production of "Blithe Spirit" (at the Morosco Theater) starring Clifton Webb, Peggy Wood, Mildred Natwick and Haila Stoddard.  Each performer has a full portrait page and each has signed beneath his/her respective portraits.  In addition, three of the supporting players have autographed beside their biographical sketches -- Valerie Cossart, Doreen Lang and Philip Tonge.

It's in remarkably good condition (some of the inner pages are loose, but intact) and, at one time, someone had folded the program lengthwise.

I'm thrilled to have this.

Just as we were finishing our walk, Guy Haines popped up on my iPod singing, "Her Laughter in My Life" (his debut recording, if I recall correctly).  I should go back and check to see if he's still singing it.

I didn't know you needed a fishing license to catch crawdads.

There was another treasure in the mail, as well.  All the way from London, England, it travelled.

Stage Door's "Collector's Series" edition of "Barbara Cook sings Songs of Perfect Propriety by Dorothy Parker".

Someone here mentioned this title a few weeks back.  Was it you, DR George "Doughty"?  If so, thanks for mentioning it here.  I would never have known about it otherwise.

Crazy week for being a short one. 8th grade graduation festivities and opening of The Lion King Jr all rolled into one.  In fact, graduation ends at 7:00pm on Friday and the show goes up at 7:00pm about 7 miles away or so.  I finally have that little challenge covered.  Can't please everyone all the time, but it's fun trying!

Happy Anniversary to Jane and Keith!

Thank you.  We have had a nice day so far.  We are taking a break in our beautiful hotel room prior to dinner.

Yesterday I took Wae-Ling Goldstein to a lake. We picked up some mealworms at the bait store, which she fed to the lizards skittering around. She found lots of discarded fishing line and some hooks on the ground and he made a fishing pole out of that, baited the hooks, and caught several crawdads. Good thing I bought her a fishing license a few days ago.

Yes, you wa t to keep her legal 😉

Laundry is in the dryers.  I saw my super, and he told me he was officially terminated yesterday.  I once again complained to the management.

So sorry to hear about the super, DR Elmore...
