Good morning. It was 93 degrees at 4:30 a.m. when I got into the car to head for the mountain.

Congratulations to all Ohioans for the Cavaliers' NBA championship.

This means that all the behind-the-scenes activity the past couple of weeks preparing a parade for the Warriors was totally unnecessary (last year, they waited until the Warriors won to plan everything).  Oh, well.  At least I won't have to take a day off just to avoid the parade.

Sigh.

BK had brutal heat yesterday.  Some of that will afflict the northern parts of the state today and in the days to come.

Happy, Happy that I have portable air conditioners at home.

It is currently 66 degrees here. It should be a little bit warmer here than it was yesterday where our high was 79 degrees.

Okay, let's try a little photographic evidence.  I don't know how big or small these are going to be, so here goes.
First, the rustic theater setting.

A bit of history about the theater itself is at:  http://abbeyofreginalaudis.org/visit-theater.html

Sister Margaret Georgina, a member of the General George Patton family, is a wonderful person to talk with on just about anything, she's crazy about musical theater, and she insisted on taking this one.  That's her, below, preparing to assist the videographer on the night they filmed.  (The theater records for posterity only and doesn't share the videos except for posting a snippet or two on their web site at some point.)

It's only 79 degrees in Oakland as of 2:30 p.m.   Some parts of Southern California are absolutely sweltering right now.  It's over 120 degrees in Rancho Mirage where BK's good friend Nick Redman lives.

Our week looks not to be unduly warm as it now stands.  Highest highs will be in the lower 80s in mid-week.

first things first: the weather

According to Weather Underground, it was 91 degrees here yesterday and a high of 88 today.

My apartment is running between 82 and 86, with AC on high and the fan on. Thankfully, the next few days should be cooler.

That worked.  I adjusted the "Time Offset" in my profile under "Look and Layout" to 0.19 and it's pretty much the correct time for me.  The "Current forum time" is still off by a couple of minutes, but the posting time is much more accurate. :)

Topic of the Day:

The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother
The Seven Percent Solution

There's a 3-man stage version of "The Hound of the Baskervilles" that TAO did a few years ago.  It's inspired by The Reduced Shakespeare Company's (abridged) shows, but it's not by them.  It's hysterical!

DR Jeanne, we have been watching MIRANDA.  At times I can't believe I'm laughing hysterically at her antics ;D

Last night we watched the first episode of THE BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES and plan to continue watching.

Thanks for the recommendation:)

You're welcome. Glad you're enjoying it.

Miranda Hart is amazing. I've never been a fan of slapstick comedy. Even as a child I didn't like the Three Stooges. Yet MH does some of the same sorts of things and I'm laughing out loud. She really pulls it off. There's an empathy factor; I feel for her in a way I never felt for the Three Stooges.

There's nothing like hot weather to make a person feel like doing nothing. I have plenty here that I need to do, but all motivation is gone, I think. I was busy this morning, though, then went out for tacos. Heat just saps my energy.

TOD:

My first SH "story" must have been something on TV when I was a child. I've read most, if not all, the stories, and have seen many movies and TV shows. I've enjoyed them all. I like both SHERLOCK and ELEMENTARY, completely different takes, but both work, IMO.
