TOD:

HBO is supposed to be having a free sample weekend, so I'll probably watch some movies on that pay channel.

I was going to do some mowing (not to be confused with mooing) this morning, but I looked out and the grass is still way too wet from yesterday's storm and this morning's dew.

Yay!!!   :)

Thanks to a needless war and the rise of ISIS, probably never.

If you were mooing, I suspect you'd be munching, not mowing, the lawn.

Listening to Spitfire Grill and enjoying it. Always good to hear Liz Callaway.

It's a better score than I ever gave it credit for.

Thanks to all for the patented HHW Vibes.  We had a fine SOLD OUT Opening Night for OGP last night.

There were a few technical errors that NEVER happened during rehearsals, and of course, there were some missed lines...but the audience was very vocal with laughs and applause....so I am pleased.

Norman missed an entrance....I saw him standing there watching his cue go by on the monitor.  I ran up the few steps from backstage as he said casually: "Is that my cue?  Is that my Cue?"   "YES!!  YES!!!" I said as I was falling to the floor.....

I think I scared Ivan who plays Billy Ray because as I fell, I also shattered the Third Commandment.

We have windows along one office wall from waist high to the ceiling.. My desk is right up against it....  We all watched as there was a sudden torrential downpour and then the were spectacular ( and somewhat scary) Lightning  strikes  to our south (which is the direction our windows face)

Are you saying you stood next to a window during a lightning storm?  Really!

This place looks like fun.

DR vixmom, have you seen the wonderful film of I Capture the Castle?  I read the book in 1999 or thereabouts, when it was republished.  I knew nothing about it, only that the author wrote 101 Dalmatians, and was a friend of Noël Coward.

My friend Peter Foley wrote a musical version a couple of years ago.

I just marked it to see if we can find it.

I have a new desktop PC to play with over the weekend.  It arrived Wednesday but all I felt like doing what setting it up on my desk.  Didn't connect it that night.

Last night, I powered up and began the ordeal of configurations and activating codes and syncing e-mail, etc.

Very intense.  This morning, my e-mails had only been synced up through 04-09-2016.   If I had really "thought" about it, I might not have selected "all" in terms of how far back the syncing should go from my yahoo mail account.  Have had that account a couple of decades.

Still....it's GOOD!

Today is a baby shower and potluck for one of our co-workers in the procurement section of GSA.

A co-worker and I opted to buy a tray of salt-and-pepper chicken wings for the potluck.

In addition, I am doing a crockpot full of Bush's original beans with cut-up wieners (beany-weenies).

My co-worker is also doing a tomato-cucumber salad.

We thought we should step up because the sign-up, as of yesterday, was kind of sparse.  That doesn't mean folks aren't coming and bringing food, it's just a lack of motivation to commit to what is being brought.

A major protest rally for Black Lives Matter is "scheduled" for this afternoon at 4 p.m. in our city center (Frank Ogawa Plaza) which is about six blocks from where I work.  These rallies NEVER confine themselves to one area and many often come our way.

I believe a movement is afoot to let some of us go around 3 p.m. or so.  Quietly, though.  No mass exodus.  Just a few work centers at a time.

I have requested that our theatre be removed as a Pokemon GO stop.  Three cars pulled into the parking lot yesterday as I was getting out of my car to go inside.

They made circles in the grass and sped off.  In one car, there was a young girl on the passenger side with her bare feet and legs hanging out the window....and her phone in her hand.

And I found a lovely dvd Andrew Lloyd Webber collection  with Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph And the Royal Albert  hall celebration

I love the Royal Albert Hall Celebration DVD!  I made my own CD of the audio track and it sounds great!
