This morning the news is all about the clean up and people in shelters and the Red Cross begging for donations....which they will charge communities for.....

Last night several local channels had wall to wall coverage....so the network shows were not shown.  I didn't get to see MASTER CHEF even though it was my first Wednesday evening home since May.

I started to watch a movie on Comcast On Demand.....on TCM....a movie called A FEVER IN THE BLOOD which I have never seen.

Well I have still never seen it.  The sound was off by about three seconds....I tried starting it over and even watching in non-HD, but nothing worked.

So I switched to THE SINS OF RACHEL CADE, which was a pretty good movie.....Angie Dickinson gave a good performance, which was rather surprising.  Peter Finch and Roger Moore as her love interests were as to be expected.

TOD:  Disney's BABES IN TOYLAND.  Loved it as a kid, now I'm amazed by its completely juvenile approach.

TOD:

A bunch of the Disney movies, with Pete's Dragon probably at the top of the list.
The Notorious Landlady (I still laugh, but not as much)

A couple of Disney movies for me, too:  Moon Pilot, and I'll crib off of DR Elmore's sheet for Babes in Toyland.

Where's Poppa? and Little Murders affected me this way when I last saw them because the things in them that I thought were ABSOLUTELY FRICKIN' HILARIOUS back in the day seemed to land like rocks.  But these films have a following and those re-watchings were some years back, very likely via VHS, so I'd honestly expect them to come back up in my estimation under the proper circumstances.  But like BK's experience with Modesty Blaise (which I never saw), you never know.

There are others, but they don't come to mind.  No doubt, a few are horror flicks that just don't cut the mustard.  But big stuff, too, and here's one:  Around the World in Eighty Days.  I've tried to get through it a couple of times over the past couple of decades, but no go.

Back from an uneventful doctor's visit.  He was gentle about the weight-loss thing when I expressed how stressed out I'd been over Richard's vision and Mom's finances.

  • The 1st HHW God!

It's overcast and gloomy in Oakland CA.

Matches my mood somehow.

It won't rain, however.  It never rains between early May and late October.

It's mostly fog and some clouds.

I remember loving Where's Poppa when I first saw it. Don't remember the first thing about the movie though.

We have our March Kritzerland show.  I was going to put it here in the notes and on Facebook, but you know what will happen if I do - people will suddenly see where my head is going in terms of our shows and they'll just usurp the notion before we even get to March.  But I'm very excited about it.

DR JohnG, I feel pretty good today.  Perhaps the new medication is helping!

Songs about stabbing people?

The I'ds of March? Songs like "I'd Rather Be Blue ..."

Marches? The March of Time and Motherhood March?

Marvin Kaplan passed away this morning - wonderful and long life - saw him at Jerry's, usually two or three times a week.

  • Have a REALLY nice day!

We are in the lobby of our hotel waiting for our friends. Once they join us we shall take a taxi to the cruise ship. I wish the ship set sail tomorrow instead of staying in port for one more day of Athens.

Why, are you tired of Athens?

Can'take think of anything convenient to do that we haven't doneL

Went and joined a friend for some catch-up at Du-Par's.  I just had an English Muffin so if I can get out of her in the next fifteen minutes to jog, then I'll be back at zero calories.
