I found DR JOHN G's link yesterday most interesting.  I had seen a couple of articles about LA LA LAND and maybe a conversation about it on TV.....but I did not know it was a MUSICAL!

Call me lazy.

I got out the door and thought, I'm too old for this crap, came back inside and cancelled my appointment.  I'll reschedule when it's not raining or 90% humidity.  I'm staying in.

DR Elmore, sounds like you're having the weather we had yesterday.  It will get better - today we have our AC off and our windows open.

I don't know if it will before Tuesday, since we may have a hurricane coming up the coast.

TCB, I always want oysters. Any way you choose.

Do you care for the "mountain" variety, as well?

No. In a word.

I haven't stepped outdoors yet today, but am about to.  Need to run a few errands.

Took a look at the weather sites, and we're at 70 degrees, but with -- 90% humidity???

Glad I have an air-conditioned car to schlep around in.

In Oakland, we're having a mild temperature increase.  Temp should reach 73 degrees today before slightly dipping to 58 degrees tonight.  Usually, it's only 69 in the day and down to 53 at night.

This has been the mildest summer in my memory of the 22 summers I've lived here in Oakland.  We generally experience "Indian Summer" in late September and early October.  We shall see what we shall see.

I'm up, I'm up - again I didn't fall asleep until three, even though I meant to go to bed at one.  Alarm set for eleven, but the phone was relentless this morning - didn't take the calls, fell back asleep a few times, but, now I'm up.  About seven hours of sleep.

TOD:

Try to Remember (of course)
September Song
September, by Earth Wind and Fire
See You in September
September Morn

I don't know "See You in September," but the other three songs were exactly the first ones that I thought of!

Last week, I won $50 on a scratch off ticket that I had purchased with a $10 winning ticket....on Monday I got a tank full of guess, three more tickets, AND $15 cash back.

I proceeded to win $35 on my new tickets, so I am still ahead.

That's fantastic, Jrand!  Congrats!

DR TCB I hope summer is not over.  I purchased a light weight t-shirt today that says Santorini and I want to wear it when we return home.

You can wear t-shirts all winter. I do. Just use a button down sweater over it. and leave the sweater open.

LOL, I would freeze.

We had a hot summer in San Antonio but it was quite wonderful when compared to the humidity of Louisville.

Thursday morning greetings!  I've already been to see Tina for a haircut and style.  In a bit, Richard and I are going on an errand date and out to lunch.  Later this afternoon, I'm going to a 50th anniversary reception at the Miami University campus where my career began 43 years ago.

I hope you enjoyed the reception.

Had to go to the walk-in clinic up the street. It seems something like a spider had bitten me on the back of my head and neck. A few hours and a prescription later, I still feel uggy.

Last night Keith and I both had throat and beginning of a cold issues.  For me I just figured it was allergies.  Poor guy is not feeling well and very likely going to keep us both up coughing.

I hope we are both ok tomorrow.

The alarm is still for late, not until 8:00.  It sure would be nice to sleep in.

Not good.  I hope you are ok.  On the upside, how convenient to actually walk to the walk-in-clinic.

Well, it ended up feeling very nice out there, and I drove around with windows open.  That doesn't mean I can open the house up to it, because there's no damn breeze at all here and I'd just be letting in what humidity there is.

True. The cream has helped, too. And so did a couple of aspirin.

Back from an early birthday lunch at Italian Colors restaurant in Village Square, Oakland CA.

I had a moderately okay spaghetti carbonara.   Dessert, howeve, was spectacular.  Tiramisu and crème brulee.  Yum.

And a cup of coffee, too.  There were seven of us.
