Christian Carvajal (he directed "Laughing Stock" that I was in last year) said that he wanted to write three books:  one about religion, one about sex, and one about politics...essentially, the three things that you don't talk about if you don't want to get into arguments.  His first book was called Lightfall.  That was his religion book.
