I was sorry to learn that actor Ritch Brinkley died last November.  He was Pseudolus in A Funny Thing Happened . . ., my first professional acting job in 1976.  He was a wonderful guy and I was really proud of his success on Murphy Brown and Beauty and the Beast. During the Forum run, he and I, possibly his grilfriend at the time, went to see the Brando film Last Tango In Paris.

I can't call us friends; we hadn't communicated since 1976, but I am so sorry to learn of his death.

48% and the first of the Richard Sherman signed musical quotes is now gone.  Really pleased for that percentage in three days.

"Royal Wedding" is on TCM right now.  Fred Astaire and Jane Powell play brother and sister.  I just looked them up and they're 30 years apart in age.  I know it can happen, but 30 years?

I love Royal Wedding. The dance on the stormy seas is wonderful, as is the Alan Jay Lerner-Burton Lane Score.

There's a bumper on TCM with Jane Powell who says she asked Fred during RW...."When was the last time you danced with your sister?"

Fred replied: "Oh,  I guess that was in 1929."

And Jane piped in: "Oh...that's the year I was born....."

Fred simply said: "Well they just keep getting younger....."

One of the readers in WORDS: Sci-Fi invited everyone to come to her and her husband's house to watch "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."  I haven't seen it in years (even though I do own it), so I'm going to go.  And it's time for me to go!

Be back later.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  Richard and I attended Heritage Sunday today at First United Methodist Church here in Middletown.  It's the church where his parents grew up and married, where he and his brothers grew up, where we were married, where Rob grew up and had his Eagle Scout Court of Honor, and where memorial services were held for both of Richard's parents.  Today was Heritage Sunday to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the building (congregation is much older), which was designed by Samuel Hanneford, the architect of Cincinnati's Music Hall.  There was a service filled with hymn-singing and a lovely potluck luncheon in Fellowship Hall.  Many good memories...

It is nice to have a long connection like this.
