I didn't realize until long after the class that the two foxtrots they played tonight, "Big Spender" and "The Way You Look Tonight," both have Dorothy Fields lyrics.

Then I stopped for ice cream at an odd Mexican ice cream parlor near me. I say odd because they have some wonderfully different flavors. Tonight I had a combination of pomegranate and corn. The previous time, I had a scoop of pine nut and another of tequila.

There are some that just look like sugar bombs with fancy colors. Plus, they have mangonadas, which are really big here right now. They're mango ice cream with fresh mango, chili powder and lime. Very refreshing.

You don't notice that colors are less vibrant, because it happens so slowly.

Before I had the cataract surgery, with my contacts in, I could see everything at a distance, but needed cheaters to read anything close up.

After cataract surgery, it is like having permanent contact lens in my eyes. The distance vision is amazing, but close up I have to use readers (2.50) in order to read.

Bottom line is that I love that the surgery worked so well for me. It is kind of like having laser surgery without the expense.

My eye doctor offered me the option of having a lens put in one eye so that I could read close up with the one eye and distance with the other.
