Time to finish the Dekalog. This one is intense and creepy so far, but hardly as depressing as some of the others.

Heads up!

Criterion's twice-annual 24-hour flash sale has commenced:  www.criterion.com/sale

All in-stock Blu-rays and DVDs at 50% off until noon EDT tomorrow.  Enter promo code DOLLS in shopping cart.

This is a good one for me, as I don't get charged sales tax, and shipping is free at the $50 level or something like that.

I told the library selectors about this sale, and the fiction selector has chosen 14 pages of titles!!  However, because of the way the list prints out, there are only three titles per page...sadly, trees had to die for this sale. ;) She had originally wanted 4 copies of each title, but Criterion only allows 3 copies per title to be purchased, so that's what I can get.

Thanks for posting this, ChasSmith!

He was really excited about it.  I am very happy for him.

Watching My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2. Sweet.

I loved the first movie.  I don't know why I haven't watched this one.  I must remedy this, soonly. :)

And on that note (G#), it's time for me to leave work.  A friend and I had made plans on having dinner tonight, but he hasn't responded back to my text.  It was his idea, so I don't know why he's incommunicado.  Anyway, I'm outta here!

Until later.

Richard and I just returned from a lovely evening at Miami University in Oxford.  We went to hear a lecture by Madeleine Albright that was better-attended than last week's presidential inauguration.  We were going to go uptown afterwards for Graeter's ice cream, but ran into our friends Katie and Mike in the lobby.  They own a bed & breakfast north of town and their daughter and son-in-law are the resident innkeepers.  Today is Mike's birthday, so we had cake & ice cream on the White Garden Inn veranda and watched the moon rise.

That sounds like a nice evening. I always respected Albright. I would have liked to hear her speak.

Watching a mess called "The Young Messiah," based on the novel by Anne Rice. All of the members of Jesus' Jewish family look like Gentiles and sport British accents. Bad people have dark skins, except for Lucifer, who's blond.

There are a couple of good actors, including Sean Bean and Jane Lapotaire.
