Interesting link, John G.   Thanks for posting it!

Wondering if KevinH ended up seeing the show.

Well, I need to get ready for tonight's final performance of "An Improbable Peck of Plays 5."  We do have some tickets sold, so that's good.  We'll probably have some walk ups, as well.

From DR John:
Quote
The cream cheese was more solid, so I spread it around the outside of the bowl and put the more liquid dip in the center.

So there was a bowl dividing them.  Now I can picture it :)

No bowl dividing them. The liquid one was at the center. You could get one chip into both dips at the same time.

The photo helps to picture it, thanks.

For those of you who have not had your flu shots yet, read this for the best time of day to get it.

Thanks, DR Jane!  I'll have to go to the health unit at work between 9 and 11 am this week.

I put it on my calendar to do it in the morning next year instead of the afternoon.

I am guessing the dip is on the spicy side for me, yet it is intriguing enough that I would have to taste it :)

Had a chili, cheese, and onion omelet and an English muffin.  Listened to the Thompson third on the Koch disc, which is so irritating I shut it off, as great as the music is.  I found one on You Tube taken from an old, scratchy transcription disc from a CBS radio broadcast from the late 1940s - and THERE is the great music conducted by someone who understands the music and even with all the scratches and crappy sound, it's brilliant.  There's also his first symphony on You Tube taken from a 1971 broadcast, and that's very good, too.

I've moved on to English music now, mostly on my favorite label devoted to English music, Lyrita.  I do think I've got most of their CDs that were done for LP originally.  They sound amazing - they were kind of the Mercury Records of the UK - just great sound and always interesting music.  Right now listening to the wonderful female composer Grace Williams.  I should have pulled out all the others when I was cleaning the closet - all the Alwyn and Arnold and Bax, etc. - at some point I'll go in and get all those.

Bruce, is it true Jerry's Deli is closing?  Not that I care as I can't get past their terrible bread but I know you like it.

Jerry's in Woodland Hills has closed, due to a non-negotiating new landlord.  Our Jerry's and Encino Jerry's are fine.

The show was great. Wonderful singing, and the sets were beautiful.
Rodgers and Hammerstein shows are always such wonderful music

Elmore's friend is very nice. And now he has lots of donuts to eat.

We ended up walking quite a ways, because two of the bus stops we could have used were closed due to the football game. I'm really glad we don't have evening tickets.

I'm at the theater just waiting for people to show up.  We'll have our last performance, then strike (which will only involve people taking home their costumes because we have no set), then the cast party!

I was surprised when I read they were closing and you hadn't mentioned it.

DR Laura, how was Ben as Capt. Von Trapp?  And Merwyn as Max?

It was just too nice out for me not to take a second, though shorter, walk before it got dark.

Sandra was with me.

He was wonderful, and Merwyn was too. The whole cast was excellent.
