The one new tire I had to buy last June was low last Monday when I was at Walmart.  Since I was very close to the point of purchase - the Tire Barn - I drove over there.

They fixed it without charge.....it seems I had run over a sheet rock nail.....who knows where who knows when...

But I may have written about this last week when it occurred.

They're running rampant on the Upper West Side.

I spent the day doing laundry, paying bills, and running errands. I have such an exciting life.

I saw quite a few adults in costumes, but nothing particularly interesting.

Tammy Grimes has passed away.  I've written about her many times over the years, and I will write about her in tomorrow's notes.

My cousin Sue Ellen, ehose poems include one called "The Ghosts in Grandma's House," sent me this photo of her mother, my aunt Dorothy, and her brother Bob shoveling snow outside the house at 711 Tenth Avenue around 1945.  It looked scarier then.  Now it has that nice aluminum siding.

It does look a bit scary here ;D

Did my banking, then noticed that one of the rear tires was nearly flat - I've been procrastinating like crazy about buying the two rear tires that I've known were bad for the last two months - but this was REALLY low, so I went and put gas in the motor car and air in the tire, then went directly to the gas station where I've gotten tires before - I'd been there two months ago so had my quote and I left the car there and it should be ready in about an hour.

BK, have you looked at the price of tires at Costco?  I bought some there last year and they were less expensive than other places that I'd looked.  Of course, you save more when you buy them four at a time, but still it's something to consider the next time you need to buy tires. :)

As if the passenger side rear tire wasn't already bad, the two nails in it certainly didn't help matters, and I think we all know where those undoubtedly came from considering the morons doing the construction work around here.  When I parked I did a sweep of the ground to make sure there were no nails there.  Two new tires and it's already riding ever so much better.

As soon as I got the call that the car would be ready in thirty minutes, I did a two-and-a-half mile jog - my new usual route except instead of the last half-mile taking me home it took me to the gas station to get my car.

I was wondering if you had read DR elmore's post, or knew on your own.

I still recall you RAVING about this actress I had never heard of.

Well, I must be going now.  The family is going to my sister's house to eat pizza, play games, and probably not hand out any candy.  My sister lives in a cul-de-sac and no one ever ventures down...at least, hardly ever.

Anyway, have a good rest of the Halloween Eve, all!

Two T/T at my house.......

They only had about 40 minutes of daylight, so I guess they headed for the RICH side of town instead of my neighborhood.

One trick or treater so far - it's six-thirty.  Can't remember if last year started this late, but I remember last year was a bit lighter than previous years.

And of course despite the open gate and plenty of light, many just pass right by the house, which is moronic considering they get the BEST candy right here.

I think we've had the last of the trick or treaters - I probably gave away about three hundred bags of candy.
