Skip just walked in and saw the birthday wishes on the screen, and says thank you.

He was almost going to make his own birthday cake but somehow that seemed wrong, so we'll get something from Little Pie Shop.

I think Bryan was around 13 when he baked himself a birthday cake thinking there wasn't one for him.  Of course I had baked him one and it was in the cupboard hiding.

Raised garden beds wouldn't have stopped these dogs, DR JANE.

Our dogs never jumped up into the beds, thank goodness.  They weren't out there alone either.

I just spoke to Rob Berman, who flies to Japan at 6:00am tomorrow.  When he returns on Nov. 28, I hope we can finally make the Big announcement.

Yea  :D

A horribly aggravating story...the fix for which requires even more aggravation.

DR elmore is there the possibility of a fix?  I just thought you were reporting him.  Does your receipt show you gave him $60 and what the change was?

If a receipt showed I gave him $60, he would have had to acknowledge it.

That is what I thought, and once you said you were only reporting this I figured it didn't.

Well, it was my own stupid fault for being angry at the world and in a rush.  The only thing I'll get out of reporting the incident to the Commission is that the driver will be exposed as a dishonest taxi driver.

But now, it's time for me to leave work and go home for a bit before rehearsal.  I think we're going to try and run the whole show...or at least a goodly portion of it.  We'll see what happens.  Pray for Rosemary's Baby!

Until later!

Back from a friend's house, where I learned a little something about copying HD material from one's DVR, retaining the HD video and surround sound, suitable for playing off a hard drive or burning to DVD or BD.  Yay!!

George, I forgot to mention it, but thank you for the DVD. It was part of my vacation mail. I look forward to watching it, hopefully this weekend.

I'm ready to go back to tonal right about now.  I listened to the Antheil symphonies - not for me, but certainly worth listening to.  Then I listened to another film composer's symphonies - two of them anyway - Benjamin Frankel - I like his film work but the two symphonies were just, for me, noise, modern, kind of serialism and it's just too atonal for me, although, that said, there are some atonal works I'm fond of.  Now I'm listening to the second and third symphonies of yet another film composer, Ernst Toch.  I like these slightly better than the others I've heard today, but still nothing I ever need to hear again.  Interestingly, his third symphony won the Pulitzer Prize.  I do like his orchestration very much.

You know a film composer I (and countless others) wish we would someday hear more from ... and won't?

I was not crazy about the first episodes of Republic of Doyle when I started watching it, and I'm now on Season Four. It really grew on me.  I just watched an episode about an art thief that was nothing but slapstick and comedy, and it was fantastic.  I needed a good laugh, and it provided it,  There's always a bit of comedy, but this was nothing but an attempt to highlight that side of the series.

And so to bed.  Physical therapy begins tomorrow.

My sister's boyfriend can do this.  Hopefully, with my new computer, I will eventually be able to do this, myself. ;D

Oh, yeah. One last note: I've started listening to Margaret Atwood's latest, Hag-Seed. It's a modern take on The Tempest, and it's part of the series of novels that are setting Shakespeare in modern times. Atwood's take, so far, is great.

It makes me want to see the original again.

Does anyone like a particular filmed version of the play? Propsero's Books was OK, and the TV version with Richard Burton and Lee Remick was not up to snuff.
