The last time I went to White Castle they were testing miniature corn dogs and deep-fried Mac and cheese. Both were scary bad.

Thanks to all for the continued vibes for Trent....he is doing well....the human body is an amazing thing to be sure....as is modern medicine.

DR GEORGE that is a great photo.....I like that they used the "Lucy lens" on you to make you look younger and softer....very becoming.

There is a rumor that another colorized I Love Lucy double feature is scheduled for Friday night.....I don't like "colorized", but one of them is a favorite.....

I should note here that even this White Castle fan for life has never wasted a meal trying anything on their menu other than the basic burgers.  I never imagined any of it being any good.  It certainly isn't attractive to the likes of me.  When I'm on the road and there's a White Castle convenient for pulling into for a breakfast snack, I still get the cheeseburgers.

(Which is saying nothing.  I'm the guy who ate the very hot and spicy Original Tommy burgers for breakfast in L.A.  Talk about the way to start a day...)

We of course were brought up to appreciate the White Castle hamburger....there wasn't a location near us, but we always stopped when we went to Indy.

We now have our own location in Mooresville, and when several of us are getting together we get a Crave Case of Cheeseburgers.....something like 26.....and in case HHW'ers didn't know, they offer a Senior Discount!

DR George that is a fantastic photo.  I think you should make it your avatar until the show is over.

Today I am going hiking. I'll see how the foot does. It is still sore.

Good luck!

My question for ASK BK DAY - is more of a reminder.....this is a good time to talk to your accountant about starting your Social Security.  It's YOUR money, and you will be automatically enrolled in Medicare so you will have insurance.  Your benefit - as it's called now - will pay your Part B cost....and you can get a Part D/Prescription package.

And at your age....uh.....OUR age.....you can collect your money and make as much income as you wish.  DON'T LET THEM KEEP ANY MORE OF YOUR MONEY!!!!

You can apply online...I did...

The notes on the White vs West Castle are funny while sad at the same time.  I have never eaten at either place, at least not that I recall.

Vibes you don't get sick kids Bruce.    Every day I feel like I am coming down with a cold.  I am beginning to think it is allergies.

Yikes, did I miss this - BK has not enrolled in Medicare yet?  Didn't we discuss this in the posts ages ago?

I was going good to correct my post and decided to comment on it instead.  I know I did not type kids after sick.  ;D

So, I hate it when people tell me it's raining as they piss on my shoes.  the X-Ray went fine, but when I got to MTI, there was no check and conflicting reasons on why: they had to redo them since they were stuck together, they were waiting for a signature.  Suffice to say, I am now home and quite pissed off.  I'm told it will be messengered to me at some point today. Goddam it.

I'm about to go out on a short but sweet bike ride.   The boys are wrestling on the floor, I don't dare interrupt their bonding.  They'll wrestle, get tired and then crash for a few hours

I remember people on here had suggested he get on Medicare right away because he could.  I don't recall reading that he actually did it.

I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep - I took some NyQuil so I'm really groggy right now.  Back in a bit when I'm coherent.

I ate at White Castle -- in Indianapolis IN.   It was a major treat.  And White Castle burgers -- in the 1980s -- cost 19 cents each.  I would buy them by the dozen, along with onion chips, a large fries and a large chocolate milkshake.

I'd spend about $6 on the lot.

I still eat White Castles.  They sell them at Safeway and other fine grocery stores in California.

You can get a box of 6 for about $4.99 (not a great price).  You can find boxes of 16 for $9.99.  MUCH better price.

Back from some banking.  Will eat in about forty-five minutes.  Still trying to not be groggy.

I haven't gotten this damned White Castle / West Castle thing out of my mind all morning.    :)

The only thing my memory is unclear on is exactly WHEN they opened those stores in L.A.  I first said late '70s, but I'm googling and finding other people's vague memories thinking it was the early '80s.  No one knows for sure.  I did find there was an additional location, though:  Las Vegas!  One person thinks the current White Castle there is on or very near the same spot as that short lived West Castle.

Wednesday afternoon greetings!  I was up and out early for a long Starbucks visit with my friend Becky.  Hadn't seen her for a couple of weeks and we had a lot of catching up to do.

Remember I said I was going yesterday for my annual eye exam?  Well, the upshot is that I'm scheduled for 2 cataract surgeries - right eye on December 29, left January 5.

I am not amused...

Back from my bike ride.  Dogs are on the patio, kinda tired today, not much playing.    Got my 2nd copy of L.A. Now and Then - it's uploading and then the CD will go into hiding, away from curious paws.
