DR Jose, can the airport personnel actually tell you that you can't redistribute your stuff?  That makes no sense to me.  I guess they really have people at their mercy, since everyone's rushing to get on flights.  But I've never heard such a thing (where you weren't allowed to take something from your bag).  If I were your brother I would send a letter to that airline.  Security is one thing.  But to me it seems like they are going overboard in many instances.

I am in aural heaven right now.  My FSM Mutiny on the Bounty just arrived.  When, oh when, will we see this (in its original roadshow version with the "bookend" segments) on DVD?

Speaking of original roadshow versions--did anyone here see the Harrison/Bricusse Doctor Dolittle when it was first released.  I could swear it had a short segment before the credits of Harrison pulling the crocodile's tooth (which is referenced several times in the opening moments of the film).  Am I imagining this?  It's not on the DVD.

Here is your John Barrowman picture for today.  He is being alive.  Well, actually, we are all being alive at the moment, I suppose.

Good Afternoon!

...I guess...

Well, it looks like one wrench has been thrown into my plans to head up to NYC on Monday... and it looks like two more may be thrown in sometime in the next few hours...

Ah, well...

However, one of those proverbial wrenches is not necessarily a bad thing, but still...

We'll see...

-Why, of why did I answer my phone?!?!?!

I thought the story brilliantly written...and it stands alone just splendidly.  I totally disagree with your every observation regarding this film.  And I doubt that if a sizable portion of the audience had reacted as you did, it would have garnered the critical raves or made the bazillion dollars it earned at the box office.

Your comments are the only negative ones I've read.

I'm certainly not interested in trying to change your opinion of this film.

However, if anyone has doubts about the film, it's incumbent upon someone who LOVED the movie to say so.
And that's horseracing.

The only Spider-Man I know is the old cartoon from the 60s. Although I briefly dated a guy a few years ago who collected anything and everything on Spiderman. He even had Spiderman tatoos.
Did he wear Spiderman briefs?  (Get it...briefly dated...briefs...never mind.   ::))

I was going through old videos this morning getting ready for my next round of eBay auctions, when I came across the old Sabu feature Elephant Boy, which reminded me that years ago I had Dear Spouse Betsy believing it was a prequel to Elephant Man.  Maybe you had to be there.....  ::)

Do you know what the Elephant Man's favorite musical is?  JUMBO.

Hey, elmore, maybe you can get the buyer to buy Writer's Block for the store.  I know that Marcy the Marketing Lady has been in touch with the Lincoln Center B&N and we're supposed to hear something in January (holidays being what they are) but the more stores, the merrier say I.

Dear Friend BK, I'm still uncertain how the B&N buying goes, but I will look into it.  I thought the main office of B&N was in charge of the buying, but I'll check with my manager tomorrow.

LOL DRJOSE when someone throws wrenches in your plans, make lemonade...  Hmmm....I don't think that's right.

DR WFO - are you sure that second pic isn't Barrowman WITHOUT makeup?

Thanks for the info on HO, DRRLP.  I will check it out.

Yes, JMK - we saw that prologue, but I have never seen it since.  I don't even remember why we were looking at DR DOOLITTLE, I had no interest in it.  Maybe we went to see something else that was sold out....it wasn't a preview - no cards to fill out or anything.....but nothing happened then all of sudden Croc Dentist!

What is the Elephant Man's favorite Michael Jackson song:

Ebony & Ivory....

It's his favorite Paul McCartney song, too.

I get it... I think...  :P

However, when I saw the phrase "Spiderman briefs", the first thing that came to mind were Underoos!  (sp?)

-Now, where on the net could one find such a sentence except here on HHW... Well, maybe.. umm.. But we won't go there...

I have yet to see SPIDERMAN 2, but I discussed it today with my friend Brian, who's the B&N sci-fi/fantasy film maven where I work, and whose opinion I respect.  He said it was better than the first, which I loved, so I cannot wait to see it.  He also loved my friend Rosemary Harris in it, and we talked about what a neat lady she is.

Welcome, Vixmom! (I resisted "Velcome...)

I've had a busy morning, starting with the cleaning lady - (she's very nice to me and does not give ME the evil eye and Abie thinks she's just swell) who was supposed to show up at 8 (I changed the date from Saturday) -- showing up at 7:40. I was just getting out of the shower. Then I had some things to do out of the home environment. Now I'm back to write and wait for the Gas Company who will see why one of my two ovens isn't working (yes, the pilot is lit). It's the oven in which I made the Thanksgiving turkey. Died the next day - not the turkey, the oven. Perhaps it's gone on strike. Do ovens have unions?

It wasn't posted, as far as I know. Not the most exciting postable news. But I needed a cleaning lady in my new digs -- well, "needed" is overstating the case - I wanted one. I asked her is she would be willing to take on another home environment in the same neighborhood and she agreed.

Elephant Man's favorite Garland song: "I'm Just Wild About Hairy"...? (NO groaning)
It's gotta be "Born in a Trunk."

DRJMK your BeeGee story (doorbell NOT D-con) reminds me of my FAVORITE New Yorker cartoon.  Used to have it, but not sure where it is now.

Dachshund stands at door on its hind legs with one paw extended and BIG smile on his face.  Startled couple stands outside.....woman stands inside with her hand on the doorknob.  The houseowner is saying:

"Ignore him - ever since he learned to shake hands, he's insufferable."

JR:  now you must run out and get the cast album of the musicalized HO, Henry, Sweet Henry, which was the biggest musical hit of the 1967-68 season, written about in spectacularly funny fashion in Goldman's The Season.

Yes, I remember the joke he was making about how the losses that show incurred didn't match the losses on the season's other bombs, but, of course, GEORGE M almost broke even and HAIR was a huge smash, so HSH really wasn't the biggest hit of the season even in  a joking way.
