Hello and the Happiest of Holidays to old friends, new friends, and strangers.  I have, yes, been gone from this site for lo these many years, but I still loom about.  It's just that thing that always interferes.  You know, that thing that keeps you away from people and things and pleasures you really enjoy?  What's it called, that thing?  Oh yes.  It's called life.  Always getting in the way of everything.

P.S.  Gifts with very large price tags will be accepted for my 72nd birthday tomorrow.  But they are not required.

Then I picked up two packages, came home, found a screener for some movie I've never heard of called The Edge of Seventeen, printed out some orders, and realized that while I uploaded that missing fifth disc from the Barbirolli Sibelius, I hadn't actually listened - so am now to him absolutely lovely Sibelius sixth - I just love his performances of these symphonies.  Plus that missing disc also had several filler pieces that I didn't have at all, so those are next.

Dining room - cleaned.  Countertops in kitchen - cleaned.  Living room - cleaned.  Next up - book room - which is a major deal but I'll get it done tonight so she of the Evil Eye doesn't have to clan around things.

Has someone mentioned Kay's album on castrec?

Yes, I just came across that, also:
Quote
After 40 years, Kay Cole, A CHORUS LINE's original "Maggie," has recorded
her first and only solo album, SOUVENIR.  It's a collection of songs from
Broadway, standards, and past-pop.

Due in early February, the CD can be pre-ordered at

http://www.kritzerland.com/kay_cole.htm

were details/track list/samples are availabe.

Oh, no!  I just read on the castrecl listserve (I get the once-daily digest version) that Dick Latessa died on Monday. :(

HERE is an obituary for him, and it lists survivors:
Quote
In addition to Ms. Ortiz [his daughter, Gabrielle Latessa Ortiz], he is survived by his partner, Jonathan Hilton; his wife, a writer from whom he was separated; two other daughters, Rachel Toomey and Gina Latessa; a sister, Antoinette Linden; two brothers, Donald Latessa and Gerald Latessa; and a granddaughter.

It's so funny to me - if it weren't for Max, who is tireless about promoting stuff, it wouldn't be mentioned there at all by that lot.

I shall shortly be on my way to Jerry's Deli to sup with a friend.  I'm not hungry at all, frankly.  I may have a dessert or just something really light.

I am now off to the movies!  My friend Margo and I are going to (hopefully) see the IMAX 3-D version of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story."  Hopefully, it's not sold out!  If it is (or too full0, we can go to the later showing.  We'll see what happens.

Until later!
