TOD:
My favorite sub sandwich place used to be in Venice, California and it was called Warner's, but it's long gone. There was something about their French rolls that were so fresh and wonderful. I like Jersey Mike's and Quiznos is good too. I usually get some type of BLT at those places. Costco has the best chicken salad which makes wonderful homemade sandwiches. I used to make sub sandwiches with dry salami, turkey, lettuce, tomato and mayo that were very good.

Thursday afternoon greetings!  My procedure went fine and Richard did a wonderful job driving in the snow.  I'm on my second cup of coffee and will probably spend the afternoon sleeping off the heavy-duty eye drops they used this morning.

TOD (continued):  The best fast food sandwich would be the McRib, although I haven't had it in a long time.

My sister used to LOVE these, too...before she became vegan (and now, just vegetarian).

I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep - Apple will be calling shortly, meanwhile I'm on the phone with DirecTV telling them they either lower my bill or cancel the service.  This is another thing for this New Year.  They raised the rates in September without telling me.  Then I'll be calling another company and doing the same.

I don't need coffee this morning; I need gin and orange juice.

Tell me. But all I got is coffee.

I am home and it wasn't bad at all. I took the nerve pill, which was mild. They also said they added nitrous oxide oxide, since my blood pressure was a little high. The procedure was nothing to even worry about.

TOD: I love a good ham and Swiss on rye with butter. Or a Vietnamese barn mi with plenty of daikon and cilantro in addition to the toasty roll and pork. When I was a kid, it was a fresh olive nut sandwich on Mom's homemade bread.

But I think the best sandwiches were various grilled cheese sandwiches I grilled outdoors. I used a baguette, tried different cheeses and additions. They were all fresh and hot and delicious.

Today has been another one of those where I felt shot out of a rocket. And it's only half over.

Good work but relentless.

Topic of the Day:  There isn't a specific kind of sandwich that I order over any other.  I usually vary what I get if I'm going to get some kind of sandwich.  Blimpie's and Quiznos used to be in the area, but they both closed.  At Subway, I more often than not get a Spicy Italian but with all pepperoni, and I add the marinara sauce from their meatballs and essentially get a pizza sub.  Delish!

Meconi's Italian Subs is a great, local sub shop that's just down the street from where I work.  Costco sold $50 gift cards for only $40 for them!  That's 20% off!  AND I have $2 off coupons for whole (foot-long) sandwiches, so it's a great double discount deal!

Another local restaurant here in Tumwater that I like is Pellegrino's Italian Kitchen.  They have a Monte Cristo sandwich that's WONDERFUL!  It's the only thing that I get when I go there.

Almost an hour dealing with DirecTV, most of that on hold.  I told them I was so annoyed at the hold time that they should just cancel the service.  He ultimately brought my price down by twenty dollars, so I agreed to stay with them for a year.  Then I'll reassess.

I know that Comcast has a Loyalties department.  If you've been a long-time customer, you can ask (and usually get) a discount because you've been a customer for so long.  I need to renew that for myself.
