Last year, the Symphony kicked out the ushers because too many of them were making noise during the performance, and the acoustics are so good you can hear a pin drop in the place. Tonight, I had to report on an usher for bringing in a bottle of water (forbidden), who proceeded to crinkle it for far too long. The same usher later got into a fight with her husband in the theater and another usher reported them. Trouble is, they know me from ushering and I know they are friends with the CEO of my company. I hope it never gets back to them that I ratted her out.
George, I found a couple of Manhattan Transfer CDs I didn't know: Tonin' and The Spirit of St. Louis. Should be fun.
