Also speaking of Proust, I've begun watching the BBC A Dance to the Music of Time, which seems to be Anthony Powell's attempt to write a Proustian epic.
I seem to actually have some voice this morning
I have to go for a recheck on the dental surgery. I hope he doesn't poke around much; it is still tender.
Just in case anyone was worried.
I like most of Elmore's list, except for Gone With the Wind, which was too dual personality for me. Mitchell rips the South apart before the war, then misses the South after the war.
Everything checked out fine. That's a relief.
Apparently Chris was the genius behind the bar, Jane, and the concept and the cocktail recipes, not the owner.

I received an email yesterday from the bar announcing that they are going to start having drag brunches. High hair high above the town. Is it Chris then who is moving on?

I think I preferred the book's more realistic treatment of Scarlett, who kills the soldier in cold blood. More fitting her personality, imo.

What I liked was the movie cut out a number of her, to me, boring men/marriages.
