Reportedly, actor Miguel Ferrer has died at age 61...from a heart attack.

Many sites were speculating about his death and wondering if it was rumor linked to the fate of his character on NCIS: Los Angeles, but confirming news stories are starting to appear.

I always enjoyed Miguel Ferrer. Did not know until I read Variety's obit that he started as a backup musician for his mom and Bing Crosby and recorded with Keith Moon of The Who.

Thursday afternoon greetings from Olympic Centennial Park in Atlanta!  We're actually in the Embassy Suites and our room overlooks the park.  We left Cleveland, TN, about 8:30 this morning and drove to my cousin's home in Carrollton, GA.  We left our car there and my cousin's wife drove us into the city.  He will pick us up Tuesday morning and, for what they're saving us in parking fees, I told them to pick out a really nice place for us to take them to lunch that day.

Opera star Roberta Peters died yesterday.  she was a wonderful lady who should have received a Kennedy Center Honors.  I worked on a holiday concert with her.  She was a joy.

I did not know Miguel Ferrer, but I did know his brother Rafael in the early 1980s and a stepsister, whose name I have forgotten.  I was lucky to work with Rosemary Clooney in 1988.

I am sorry to hear of his death

Oh no.  Roberta Peters.  Met her when she sang Gilda in a concert performance of Rigoletto at Meadowbrook in 1968, and was enchanted with her and her voice thereafter.

I especially love her on the RCA Soria Ariadne auf Naxos recording.

RIP, wonderful lady.

She always had that "magic", you know?

Just thought about it, and all four leads from that long ago night are gone:  Jan Peerce, Roberta Peters, Cornell MacNeil, Ezio Flagello.  I have a private recording of it and it's time to take it out.  Did I do anything in that?  No, there's no organ or anything.  Maybe I hit a chime or something.  Probably helped stage manage.

I went back and added a couple of things, and am about to add one more little thing and then I will continue on - I was trying to see about ending the chapter in what I thought was a natural place, but then I came up with a better way to end it and that will make it at least five to seven pages longer, which is what I really wanted and now I won't have to keep adding things.

Purchased my ticket for The New Yorkers:  Mezzanine Left (but really looks center in the seating chart) H-114.  Looking forward to the show and to seeing the other HHW folk!

That CD is out of print and selling for a fortune.
