TOD:

Stanley Green's books on musical theater are a treasure. So are Robert Kimball's books, including Cole and the many complete lyrics volumes.

I love Ethan Morddenn's Broadway Babies and Better Foot Forward, which is why I read most everything else he writes about movies and film, but I don't care for most of those.

Broadway Babies and Better Foot Forward are his best books. By the time he began his misinformed and poorly researched decades books, he was guilty of believing his own press and out for revenge on those who saw his clay feet.

I just remembered that one of my dreams last night was about a chord in "Take Me Back To Manhattan" that I must address today.

Last night I caught an episode of Keeping Up Appearances, which amuses me, although I find Hyacinth Bucket too much like my aunt Jean to be funny.  I spent most of the time wondering why no one's killed her or why Richard hasn't walked out.

The garbanzos soaked all night and are now cooking.

I gather you do not use canned beans.  I haven't cooked beans since I got rid of my last pressure cooker.  What do you cook them in?

Feel better vibes for DR VIXMOM.

Things are improving around here - such as they can and are.

Good.

Yesterday I started looking through my stuff for a couple of photographs, which I found, but this morning that pursuit led me to going through my woefully ignored collection of color slides.  In addition to prints, I shot slides from the early 1970s through the mid-1980s.  Rediscovered some amazing stuff, which little by little I'll scan for various people (including myself), and I'll no doubt post a few things here eventually that might be of interest.

Who said it feels like Sunday?  It TOTALLY feels like Sunday to me, and has since I got up.  I was happy to realize it's only Saturday, which is better for doing a few of the things I'd sort of planned on doing.

Back from some bacon and eggs.  Prior to leaving I did manage to futz and finesse about a third of yesterday's writing.

I also had the triple AAA come out because it's been sounding like my battery's going bad - slow to turn over in the mornings.  But he checked it, the alternator and the starter and all show as in perfect working order, so maybe it's just the cold weather.

I am doing laundry. It is a glorious day here, sunny and brisk, after all our RAIN. Can you believe it? RAIN!
The rain returns tomorrow, and as I must go outside to get to the laundry room, I wanted to get it done today.

BK's writing pace is, as ever, astonishing.

I'm looking forward to the new book. March? April?
