I was supposed to work from home morning, but my co-worker's son and husband have come down with the flu and she's not feeling too great herself. I know she had the flu shot

For me, nothing during the past 20 years can compete with PINOCCHIO

I first saw it when I was about 4 years old, and the little wooden guy singing "“Hi, diddly-dee! An actor’s
life for me!” was my inspiration to go into show biz.

Vibes for DR VIXMOM.

BK, which cowbell passage is your favorite?  Or which movement is it in?

I'm overdue for a straight-through listening to the recordings I have, and I'll do it soon, following the score.  This piece was too enormous a "thing" in my life for such a long absence.

I went to urgent care this morning. Because of the sharp pain in my ribs.  They took chest X-rays and ruled out pleurisy, pneumonia and bronchitis and think I pulled muscles from coughing,, they did prescribe some cough medicine

In the list of Grammy winners, I noticed that two were won by a recording of the Ghosts of Versailles featuring Patricia Racette, who, if I recall correctly, is a friend of Fred's. or an acquaintance, at least. Elmore, too, maybe.

Anyway, I'm glad that piece has finally been recorded. Loved it when it saw it ages ago on TV.

I don't see it on either of my regular websites, but I'll keep my eye open.  All they're calling for over the next seven days is the possibility of some rain on Wednesday.

There are a bunch of them, of course, but I've gotten comfortable with AccuWeather and Intellicast.com.

But NOT (crossing self, knocking wood) for anything except a cleaning and checkup.

John - The connection was that Skip wrote the liner notes for Patricia's solo CD.

Looking at the NE weather report.....seems to be concentrated in Maine and up that way.....

ChasSmith - there are several cowbell passages in the sixth, but it's the one in the Andante (usually the third movement, although some conductors place it second), towards the end where there's a big swell into the main tune of that movement.
