How on earth could I have forgotten Doctor Zhivago.  Our first choice for a song after we were married was Lara's Theme.

Thursday morning greetings!  Today I'm doing an afternoon art thing at the public library and this evening we're going to hear J. D. Vance speak at the Miami University campus here in town.  I'm very interested to see how he is received in the hometown he slanders in his book.

It should be an interesting evening.  I look forward to hearing about it.

I also prepared and launched the Kindle eBook version - it's usually up within twenty-four to forty-eight hours but it was easy as pie.  Waiting for the Nook version so I can get that up at Barnes and Noble.

If you are doing a Nook version as well I will wait for it.

The good news is that the files that were sent to the printers and to the Author House in-house eBook folks was correct.  My guy who oversees everything at AH cannot explain how what he sent me to sign off on is incorrect - no one can explain it, apparently - a mystery for the ages, but he assures me he looked at all the files that went to the printers and they are absolutely correct.

Very good news!

Good grief! Who would believe that hotel rooms in Boise, Idaho would be so expensive!

Are you getting a room by yourself or sharing?

Do you have to pay for your own room?  Who picked the hotel?

I didn't feel he slandered the town in the least.  Middletown was a complete mess after Armco moved out.

And I am home from City Center.  Joshie and I had a good time at Meet & Greet.  I saw my friends Tim McDevitt, Cody Williams, and Eddie Korbich, who are in the cast, and friends from Rodgers & Hammerstein, the Cole Porter Trust, and others.  Joshie and I corrected some orchestra parts, orchestrated around 20 bars of a Durante song, "Wood," together, and bickered.  We work together very well.

It isn't exactly a vacation mecca, especially in March and April.

But I heard SECOND SAMUEL will be playing there, so that may account for it.

I would try bickering with the Professional Weather Guessers, but they insist we're getting a few inches of snow between tonight and tomorrow afternoon.

I hope they don't have to cancel tomorrow night's show.  They're almost selling out every night, and that would be a shame.

It's had for me to believe that this month of March is nearly 1/3 finished.

eBook is up: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XHR6HJ8/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1489096743&sr=1-1&keywords=thrill+ride+bruce+kimmel

I was going to place my book order today, but my gal is out until Monday, so I'll place it then and I'm sure she'll give me faster shipping, since she's been gone for three days now.

I'm not sure it was his intent to paint such an unflattering picture of Middletown, but the media certainly have decided that it's a decaying midwestern city without knowing for sure where it is or how to pronounce it (Middleton, anyone?).  Many of us who live here have had to assure friends from other states who have read the book that, yes, we're OK, and, no, not everyone here lives like J. D.'s family.  There are actually some educated people here who know what sparkling water is.

People are funny, though.  I have relatives who hear of a fire 500 miles away from me and call me worried to death that I'm affected.

The day plods on, and it STILL feels like Friday.

I'm gonna be in trouble in the morning, I fear.

When Mom lived in Arizona, we didn't know a tornado had hit near here until she called to check on us after seeing the story on CNN.

We did have a bit of excitement earlier this year when a warehouse burned and loads of people were killed.  Right here in Oakland.

I was asked to check in with all my friends to reassure them that I had not been in this warehouse with all the other hip-hopping youngsters who got trapped there.

I wanted to say it had been a near miss...that I had been there earlier but had gotten out before the fire.

But, you know....I was asleep in bed when everything happened.

When I think of a day that's gray and lonely
I just stick out my chin and grin and
Say-y-y-y-y-y         Oh-h-h-h-h-h

And, no, I wouldn't know how to hip-hop if my life depended upon it.

Of course, I could Bunny Hop, if importuned to do so!!!
