COMPANY!!! I loved the original Broadway cast album so much - played it until it was almost worn out.....then got the CD.

I bought the Roundabout CD - a was disappointed.....put it away and continued to play the OBC. Of course I also enjoyed the documentary about the making of the LP.

I saw a production last fall at DePauw which included the revisions, which I didn't much like. I have the DVD of the version featuring Raul What'shisname, and I watched the one with NPH on PBS, which I didn't care for.....

It is very sad that the original version is NOT available - but as the recent THE GLASS MENAGERIE proves - no show is a match for a bone headed director......

I just got a text from a TAO board member working on their production of 1984, asking if I would be able to help set up the sound board before my union board meeting at 2:30. I said that I can, so now I have to get ready for my union board meeting much earlier. It shouldn't take too long, but I also need to shower and get dressed and eat.

It was a great deal of fun, but also a lot of people giving way to more people. I'm just glad i didn't try to get to the free shows that Garth Brooks and Lady Antebellum gave. No thank you.

I didn't discover Company until after falling or A Little Night Music. But fall for it I did. I even did one of my master's degree classes on the show. I understand one of the changes made to the show, and that's dropping of Tick Tock, but I don't like it. It really shows how miserable and empty Bobby's sex life is. But not providing that orgasmic release of Tick Tock is as anti-audience as Sondheim not wanting people to applaud at the end of Rose's Turn.

Found a copy of the Samuel Ramey Kismet for $1. They tried to tell me it was two discs and the second disc was lost, but it's actually one of those oversized packages that Columbia used to do.

Some of the singing, especially Julia Migenes, good. Others (Jerry Hadley) is not so hot. I'm so not looking forward to Mandy "Chile" Patinkin's take on Zubbedayia (sp?)

Had fun at the paperback book show. I've learned over the years not to bring many books - the authors signing at this show sign for free and people bring in all their books - very few actually purchase anything. Funnily, the only book sold was my one and only extra hardback of Thrill Ride - someone saw the cover and couldn't resist.

Grant Geissman was there and we spent a couple of hours looking at stuff, then we went to the Coral Cafe where I had the chicken strips, a small salad, and some sweet potato fries. Filling.

Watching Manchester by the Sea. I don't like Casey Affleck. I find his performance too mannered, too predictable, too forced. He was better in that Assassination of Jesse James movie.

They tell you to select a menu that doesn't have the title they tell you to look for. Then they try to upgrade you in several different ways at once. I could end up spending $500 on forms, if I took their advice.
