STARTING AT THE END AND ENDING AT THE BEGINNING

Well, you've read the notes, the notes went backwards like Merrily We Roll Along, and now it is time for you to post until the backwards cows come home.

I couldn't wait to hear BK's notes on Fun Home, since he joined us for the show.  I so agree with his verdict.

Who of us wishes that newer musicals would not depart entirely from providing at least a couple of memorable songs?  Melodies you want to sing, or at least listen to again?
None were to be had in Fun Home, though the story and characters are poignant.
Enjoy your Friday everyone. :)

I have a request for each DR coming to tomorrow's matinee.  Will you please get a second Playbill for me?  There are never any floating around backstage, and I could use a few.

This moring I have auditions for Moonshine & Mistletoe and then lunch with our DR JohnG. I'm meeting my college friend Matthew for dinner before I head down to City Center.  He saw The New Yorkers last night.

I wanted to see Fun Home when Rebecca Luker replaced Judy Kuhn, but I had no money.  It was during my period of little work.  I cannot say that I am an admirer of either Ms Tesori or her music.  Or Ms Kuhn, for that matter.

Thank you all for the nice words about the Times review.  We got two online pans, one from Jesse Green, who will be the new Times co-critic, and one from Theatremania.  I huess the show fits neither their sense of fun or their concept of what period musical comedy should be,

I read the Theatremania review and was left wondering if the writer had any idea what he was seeing.

He might've been like my musical loving coworkers, who like Book of Mormon has a highly original score.

But note that Jesse Green right upfront praised  "the silky gorgeousness of the orchestrations."

Larry - How did you find about about that great Times review?  Were you just checking around online, or did someone from City Center call you to tell you about it?

The Times review is really the one that will tell history that this was worth all of Jack Viertel's faith in the project and all of you guys

City Center posted the review yesterday.

It was still a pan review.
